Assumption #1: Stevenson KO's WBC Silver title holder and #2 ranked Gonzalez. Bute beats Froch in dominating fashion.

Assumption #2: Ward agrees to a WBC-WBA-IBF unification late in 2012.

Assumption #3: The WBC sees the magnitude of the fight, realizes Ward won't fight his mandatory contender Dirrell, and sanctions Ward-Bute for the SMW Diamond belt opening up the "regular title".

Assumption #4: WBC's #1 and #2, Dirrell and Stevenson, jump at the opportunity to fight for the vacant title.

Regardless of location, who wins and how?

A banger who now trains at Kronk. Working on balance & footwork.

Steward says he's the #1 or #2 best SMW in the world. Says his endurance & power are amazing.

He should adjust his style if he wants to win against Stevenson. In a war, Dirrell will win only if he's the first one to connect.

Anthony is the more technically sound of the 2 borthers. He's tougher, hits harder ,better timing and more relaxed as a fighter. shame his career was stalled do to cancer. great to see him comming back. theres a reason Ward was more willing to fight Andre Dirrell then he is Anthony.thats cuz the Dog is a far more dangerous fight. Dirrell beats Stevenson by 7-8th rd tko or ko

I just looked at both men stats and Dirrell has a 4 or 5 inches reach advantage. If he uses it well, he should keep Stevenson at the right distance. That's what happened to St-Juste, who is also a powerful southpaw, although less powerful. He was never able to reach Dirrell.

Ward said [on Twitter, replying to a fan] fighting Anthony would be a good matchup, but that the networks wouldn't be interested.

...so, this being a viable fight between Sep-Jan, will Stevenson be able to close it in on Dirrell and land murderous combos?

Anthony has yet to fight a top 20 level SMW, Stevenson looks too strong for the dog. Be a fun fight to watch though.

I'd like to see Stevenson in a fight where the other boxer hits him back before I see him in a fight were the guy hitting him back is world class.

I agree. I don't think too highly of Dirrell. Especially Anthony. But those combos Stevenson threw the other nigth were shockingly sloppy, accurate punches but poor defensively. He didin't even try to bring his hands back on half the punches he threw. Bad habbits bit you in the ass when you leaest want them to. So gonna have to see more from the guy before I'd even consider him ready for Dirrell.
