Another thing, the press did Lacy no favours calling him the new Mike Tyson, that is some heavy burden to carry especially if you are around my age. Tyson rightly or wrongly was revered and worshiped so he was aways going to loose that one. Broner well how tall is he 5'6" the only thing you can lable him is the first 5'6" p e n I s in the world.

Four paper titles..Barely beating fighters...Broner was protected.
Lacy was on the way to greatness...he just ran into an ATG.

Broner loss to a solid fighter not a true great.

Prime Lacy would never lose to a Maidana level fighter, a true ATG ruined him.

A Calzaghe level fighter stops a Broner level fighter in three rounds.

    Lacy was the goods.

I'm a huge Naz fan and coming from Detroit and being surrounded by Middle Easterners him fighting in the Joe Louis arena was big news at the time. Broner is a saleman and he does great in that field but he does not have the confidence that he had before the Maidana fight. That was his best fight to date because he showed alot of heart fighting a full welter with real power and staying on his feet. Maidana was on a 4 fight knock out streak against real 147 pounders and Broner stayed upright until the 12th.

He will probably never have another great fight like that again. I loved it. He stayed in the pocket and fought like a man.:bbb

Please don't compare a club fighter like Broner to a guy who was one of the best fighters of the last 50 years before 'Zaggers derailed him.

Hamed is only a legend in his own mind and his fans'. In everyone else's minds, he's an overrated, classless tool and a clown that got his comeuppance when embarrassed by Barrera. As far as Barrera Khan is concerned, if you saw that fight, then you would have known that it was fought at lightweight, 2 divisions above MAB's best weight. And the ref was Dave Parriss, the most corrupt and biased ref ever.

Broner is nothing like Jeff Lacy. Completely different fighters and Broner is better. Broner is an example where fighting every fight the hardcore wants does not pay off. They just wanted to see him lose, not to see competitive fights, while promoting other fighters fighting bums as P4P (you know who I'm talking about). He's doing the best thing for his career right now and is young enough to reinvent himself.
I thought he only lost to Porter because of an odd lack of punch output something Broner needs to fix. I didn't think Porter was on his level but Porter was very determined. He'll be fine if he can figure out how not to underperform.

    Sadly, I agree.

Lacy was literally a one tool fighter.

Without his powerful L hook, he was easily outboxed.

Kindof like taking Tyson's bob and weave away along with his UC and OH R.

    What's left is Jeff Lacy.

At least Broner can be a top 5-10 at 140-147 for the next couple yrs.

Lacy was literally outta the top 20 168-175 within 3 fights of his exposure.
Very similar to Cloud in that respect. :think

Watching Broner get beat both times are two of my favorite sports moments.

I'm not missing any point. You're overrating Hamed and making excuses for him, which always happens by his fans.
