Great fight and props to both fighters.Would love to see a rematch after both guys have an interim fight or two. Both guys showed heart and determination. The round that Diaconu went down was contender for round of the year in my view,Pascal looked to have spent himself trying to finish Diaconu and left himself vulnerable and barely survived it without going down also.No quit in either guy,i think this fight elevates both in the overall sense.
Sorry but i dont buy the 'rust' excuse. He was in good shape and doing better than he normally does - but Pascal had the better pedigree and it showed. Pascal beats The Haddock 10 times out of 10.
If it makes money it make sense. I agree. It wasn't an excuse it was a personal regret like said there. Stop talking out of your ass.
the interim? wouldnt that be the winner of dawson/johnson?? if anything dianconu should try to get the likes of a tarver before hand. which i would like to see that diaconu against tarver especailly now everyone picking tarver to win so why not. it will be a do or die fight. traver loses that 3 in a row and if diaconu loses thats twice and than where do he go. but of coarse diaconu will more likely have to fight in the us(florida) and his promoter will have to come up with more than 2 million for tarver.
What I would really like would be a Diaconu vs Mack. But probably it will be a more easier fight. We will see.
you no i never watch yusaf mack but he has been tkoed twice in super middle.. he speaks as thing are different now so only time will tell. maybe we will start having more bigger names in light heavy now.
Mack as looked a lot better at 175. He was KOed at 168 both times in great part due to stamina problems (he was beating Andrade until he literally ran out of steam), and he showed no such issues against Chris Henry at 175.
Pretty much. Already a solid top 10 contender in a top-heavy weight class that's weak after about the top 4. He's probably on the same level as Diaconu, Pascal, Woods, Cloud and those folks, but he's no threat to the top guys.
The action was excellent, but conventional wisdom has to be with Pascal winning by a wider margin next time around, other things being equal.
