His style wasn't exactly action packed. However, I think he had a very unfair rep as a negative fighter.

    I thought he boxed well.

He did not have the most crowd pleasing style. He was an outstanding boxer though. I will tell you on a local level that guy took a lot of **** because of the way he fought. Folks here expected him to be like Michael and Leon but he wasn't. Leon and Michael were street guys that willed themselves to Olympic gold and world championships. Leon was a god in this town when he beat Ali. Can you imagine not only being his son and having that name but having to literally dig yourself out of the same poverty to become a two weight champion? Most promoters wouldn't go near Corey at first because of Leon's drug and alcohol issues and how inconsistent he was. They assumed the apple did not fall far from the tree. Corey had to take tough fights for short money against very tough guys coming up. He did nott come from money and earned everything that he accomplished.

He is not my favorite fighter to watch but he was a hell of a lot tougher and better than he gets credit for. He is a boxer's boxer.

Yeah, Spinks had heart, which he doesn't get enough credit for. I never saw any dog in him.

You have big shoes to fill when your dad scored one of the all time biggest upsets, and your uncle is arguably the greatest light heavyweight ever.

Most "sons of legends" tend to be mentally soft (Camacho Jr, Chavez Jr, Eubank Jr), but that certainly wasn't the case with Cory. He had grit and mental toughness.
