Speaking of 10-8 rounds, that's what I scored the 8th in favor of Diaconu. I don't think this was a robbery. Good, tough fight, but Diaconu won it IMO. It was definitely close, though. I didn't like Diaconu's fading down the stretch, but he landed the better shots most of the fight and did a good job defensively (even on the ropes most of the time) until he started wearing down. I could see 115-113, 115-114 AD, or a draw if we're stretching it.. I can't find 7 rounds to give to Henry.

Diaconu: "It was by far the hardest fight of my life! It wasn't a very good performance and I didn't make it easy for myself. The last couple of rounds were very tough. I'm glad I made it!"

I dont know why some people say Henry was robbed, because he wasnt. This fight looked a lot like last weeks Dawson vs Johnson only more fun to watch.Anyway Diaconu won the fight just like Dawson won the fight ,by taking many of the first rounds,he won it by 1-2 points, besides one of the judges was from Texas, the same place Chris Henry is so.....The Shark won period

Yea Im not saying Henry was robbed. My defenition of "robbed" is different than most people's.

Either fighter could of won I just thought Henry did enough to win tho.

But none the less, hopefully Diaocnu learns somthing from this in his future fight with Dawson. :hey

There were no knockdowns in this fight either. Diaconu fatigued after using all his energy through the first 9, and the bigger man in Henry was using his weight to push him down. Still even in the 10th, 11th, and 12th Diaconu was scoring, and landing flush shots. He was obviously not expecting this to go the distance. Still, this was very close and would love to see a rematch. I don't think you can make any definitive assumptions about Diaconu, except that his stamina sucked and he gutted out a tough fight. Let the haters hate, but no need to hype Diaconu other than that he is an entertaining fighter.

Even though LHW is getting to be stacked, If Diaconu tightens up and improves his physique he could easily move down in weight. He looked really undersized against Henry.

Diaconu is more skilled than I thought. He has very good defense and quick hands, but he does leave himself open when he's stationary like that. When Henry decided to fight on the inside he got the upper hand, particularly in round 9. Against Dawson he's going to have to pressure him. Diaconu also doesn't have quick feet, against Dawson who likes to fight on the outside and keep his opponents at bay, Diaconu will need to be the initiative, none the less I predict a UD for Dawson.

...please vote in the poll, if you've seen and scored the fight!:good

First time around, I scored it a draw. Then, I watched it again and gave it to Diaconu by 1. I can make a case for Diaconu by 2 and even for Henry by 2. If I had to pick a winner, I'd pick Diaconu because he landed more effective punches. He was weaker, but when it came to punches taken and recieved, I thought he did enough to deserve the nod. How about you?

Well, whilst Henry thought he might have been given the nod in the USA, he did accept that Diaconu was a worthy Champion.

Of course, he's not a Champion - he's only Interim Champ.

I wasn't scoring rounds because frankly, I didn't think I would have to. I figured that Diaconu would just put the guy away sooner or later. I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. I cannot emphasize enough the fact that I had never even heard of Chris Henry until he signed for this fight. How does Diaconu let him go the distance with him and in the process almost get beat? How does that happen?

By the way, the chicks holding the flags in the ring before the fight were pretty ****in' hot. Not many Romanian girls where I live but I'm starting to wish there were. :love

The Shark is a misnomer. Real sharks don't struggle against Chris Henrys. They eat them. :canada

No one could have guess how tough and hard-chinned Henry would be. Diaconu's trainers were predicting a quick KO for Diaconu. When Diaconu went in there, he went in there to KO the guy. He spent a lot of energy trying to get the guy out of there and he suffered late on as a result. He should have boxed more. Henry should have used his jab more, as he was supposed to do. Both fighters got the gameplan wrong but Diaconu was more experienced and managed to stay in the fight in the late rounds...

No one will be underating Henry from now on, that's for sure. Bute was amazed how tough the guy was. He said he's never seen anyone like him. Bute knows how hard Diaconu can punch...
