Adrien Broner, a truly classy guy. In the olden days, he would have a personal appearance before the NYSAC for his conduct post-Vargas fight, in the ring interview, with Showtime's Jim Gray.
It wasn’t that egregious, I don’t like the guy at all but he doesn’t seem to indecent. One thing is for sure most guys with his mouth and flamboyance don’t have his level of “toughness” in the ring. I’ve always been impressed by how resilient and formidable he is during these in the trenches fights. I still find him to be an ignorant self centered ***** but he’s a tough as nails as a fighter, can’t deny that.
Why don’t they just fight in Cincinnati, in that raggedy house he lets his mom live in while he continues to waste money on gold grills, jewelry, clothes and betting on bowling. In all seriousness, Vargas, from Las Vegas, traveled a lot further to New York than Broner did from Ohio. A draw was a fair call.
I'd agree that he's resilient, but not that he's especially formidable in the trenches. He needs a guy to consent to taking turns with him, and he falls apart if that guy is strong and unobliging. I wasn't really paying attention to the post-fight jawing, but Broner is certainly indecent in general. What father films himself banging loose broads and uploads it to the internet for posterity?
Or wiping his @55 with $20 bills? It baffles me that he could come from Cincinnati and not be scared straight by the Aaron Pryor story. Aaron Pryor said he had so many people in his pocket that he would have to sneak to the bank to withdraw money, without his legion of leeches knowing about it. I hope I’m wrong, but I just don’t picture things ending well for Broner after boxing.
Pulling the race card here around 0:50; This content is protected Ridiculous enough, considering all the opportunity and favor the sport has given him, but he pulls it about 40 seconds after stating that he didn't get the decision because he "cussed out the promoter" (the very black Leonard Ellerbe).
