Doubt it. Once Gamboa hit Broner, he will be a goner.

Is he tested to last for 12 rounds? Did he fought notable fighters (except ponce)?

He's a young prospect, just like what Juanma and Gamboa were at 2009.

He's a quality boxer but he's not special. Won't be p4p imo. He lost to De Leon, who is tough but nothing spectacular.

Broner has an impresive record but most of those guys were tomoto cans... Ponce was the first quality opponent he fought, and Litzau is really nothing more than a fringe contender at best and has a bad chin.

You must have missed the Ponce Deleon fight cuz he got a gift.... Broner much bigger, faster, younger than Deleon but got stage fright,,either that or scared of Ponce... Didnt show any heart in that fight.

However i do think hes got talent.. Solid puncher, fast reflexes.... But Ltizau was a good opponent to make him look good... Litzau not that good anyways, just caught Caballero on the right night, and a TD win over the Lazy faded Juarez..

Gamboa was a little more than a young prospect... More like elite amatuuer gold medalist who was already knocking out and beating some respectable opposition early on.

Lopez came out of nowhere, but he was blowing out everyone and unlike Broner never fought like a *****.

Broner might reedem himself, lot of top fighers have dissapointed early on. In almost any other division i would need to see him get another win over a good opponent... But JL is the weakes so id say he is already a top 10 guy.

Well Said. There are a lot of really talented young (18-25) fighters from 122lbs-147lbs. Guys like Frankie Gomez, Jose Benavidez, Gary Russell Jr. Mickey Bey Jr. Chris Martin, Randy Caballero, Eddie Gomez and more. Now as for Broner, I thought he spent more time thinking then fighting in his fight against De Leon, being that was his first test against a southpaw. But what i saw in that fight was a young fighter who didn't fade in the later rounds. Still had his stamina and speed even in the last round. Having that ability to still be strong late may serve him well. But for the record, I had De Leon winning that fight.

Didnt mean to bash Broner so hard, just mad cuz i know Ponce and saw how hard he trained for that fight only to get chipped by a big mouth who didnt deliver.

Actually theres too many former champs and elite guys to mention.. WHo flopped early on... IF Broners does have heart and a chin.. He should at least win a title.. As for pfp or elite.. Well have to wait on that one.

Yeah I can see that also. But the question is, where will he settle in his prime years (27-30). Now he's a 130lbs fighter. I see him be a a solid 135lbs or 140lbs title holder in a few years.

Yey he should stay at 130 for a bit... Dont think he has the experience or mentality to handle a Rios,Guerrero or a few other top Lw.. And JW? He has no buisness there right now.,,HL is weak right now and most guys are safe despite his inexperience.

Yeah 130lbs is pretty good for him right now. 135-140lbs is so loaded with young talent and a few older fighters looking to show that rumors of their demise was greatly exaggerated (Morales and Holt). If Rios gets past his next opponent, what's next for him? As for Broner, I have heard Ricky Burns and Luis Cruz. We'll see.
