For real. Rejecting 40 million for 5 years when he will either keep fighting ESPN fighters for less, or step up and get his ass kicked again and his stock will plummet. Either way, he will never make as much as he was proposed from Roc nation. ****ing idiot

I doubt they made him that offer.

$8M/yr is a LOT to be paying a guy who will most likely lose every time they put him in tough. And if they don't put him in tough, they won't make back their investment.

That's a pretty large contract in any sport really.

Why would they offer him $40 million over 5 years? That's a better question.

You can call him what you wanna but the man believes in himself and the decision will only be a bad decision if he fails to eclipse the 40 mil in five years. I got respect for any person who takes control of their own destiny, even if he fails, he did it his way and there's no one to blame but himself. On the other hand, if he's a huge success, don't hate, appreciate.

I doubt he was offered that and even if he was he was never in a position to agree as Al Haymon basically has final say on anything he does and if Haymon didn't want it Broner couldn't proceed without his approval.

Only thing worse than Broner turning that down is the idea that someone offered it to him in the first place.

I doubt he makes 40 million in his whole career, let alone the next 5 years.

Like I've said before, the 'let-the-promoter-control-my-career' days are over in boxing.

Jay-Z has to be the dumbest human ever for offering Broner that much... But I think if you know Jay-Z and the way he does business, the guy is a huge scumbag. Honestly, scum of the earth.

    http://freebeacon.com/blog/new-jay-z-the-sellout/

Guy claims to be from the streets and for the people... Yet he also did this stunt:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/...-z-occupy-wall-street-response_n_1876907.html

Guy has no brain, it is easy to make money when you have money. Stop glorifying these **** poor excuses of human beings as being worth more than the **** coming out of our assholes.

So I honestly salute Broner for not taking that deal.

We all know Broner is not the smartest tool in the shed. Very low education level, likely very low overall IQ. You'd expect this guy to make dumb decisions all the time. Rejecting $40 million for a 5 year deal that could set him up for life is incredibly stupid.

Broner for some reason sees himself earning FMJ purses in very short order. He's delusional.

Actually he will make way more money not accepting 40 million. 40 million isn't a lot for a boxer with his talent level if he used it right. He could be making 5 million per fight and fight 4 times a year.

    Good move on his part.
