No it isn't. If you don't like the PPV card, then don't buy it. It's actually an insult to fans to put tuneups, confidence builders, and showcase fights on non ppv events. You pay a monthly subscription fee to a Showtime or HBO with the expectation that they'll put on quality programming. When that isn't done, the paying customer is getting ripped off. With PPV, you know exactly what the product is going to be before you pay for it. So if you don't like it, you can pass on the card.
I don't understand the reason why you quoted me.:huh Nobody said anything about name recognition. Usually with fighters that you do know by name, you know what you're going to get or have an idea of what you might see. Khan Collazo is not a forgone conclusion. People want to see Broner. Leon Love...well.
Who said I was felon? Why you doin research? Anyway... Broner has no footwork. That's why limited Maidana beat the hell outta him. Rios would even be a worse fight for Broner.
Well regardless of the outcome of the fight, Molina was landing serious leather all night on Khan, especially early in the fight, he just didn't have the power to do serious damage (which is why the fight was made in the 1st place, as he had just moved up from 135 to fight Khan). Molina is a decent fighter. AB is being put in a low risk/confidence building fight after a huge loss just like Khan was. :hi:
I disagree. The fight with Gabe was close. J'Leon actually won the round after the one he got knocked down in. I agree the scorecard was :-( ... but it was a close fight and J'Leon defitniely won half of the rounds. Its a 10 point must system on a RD by RD basis. A couple of lopsided rds doesn't mean that fighter automtacially won the fight. Jus saying
Except HBO & Showtime aren't boxing channels. You pay a monthly fee for things like original programming and first run movies that air before Netflix streaming gets them. Not for boxing alone. It's certainly part of the equation, but not the entire equation. PPV should be their best fights, the most meaningful and most competitive.
So now Maidana is limited? Rios can't fight. Rios was always a bully, and bullies don't last in this sport. Pac beat the brakes off of Rios and Broner would probably do the same.
Of course Maidana is limited. That's why Mayweather will easily beat him. You beat Maidana with movement. Rios can be beat with movement, and that's why one of the best movers in the game, Pacquaio, was able to beat him relatively easily. And I say relatively because Rios still landed some shots. Alvarado also beat Rios, but he got the **** beat outta him in the process. The main reason Broner lost to Maidana is his lack of footwork. He clearly is not a mover. I've said this numerous times on here. Broner is a slugger with exceptional defense. This worked perfect for him at the lower weights because he could use his size, strength, and power to easily beat his opponents. However, when his opponents showed him movement, he had trouble coping because he's not a adept volume puncher. He likes to throw a few punches, show boat, and get his man outta there quickly. His plan failed when he fought a guy just as big and strong as him who shares some of the same characteristics as far as gameplans are concerned. Maidana is also a slugger. Rios is a slugger as well. So you have another fight with two sluggers. Broner and Rios. Rios is big, strong, and durable. I don't think Broner can beat him. Broner doesn't have the footwork to beat Rios. He's not adept at moving around the ring. And it is highly unlikely he'll have success pushing Rios back because Rios will invite that type of fight. Broner COULD win that type of fight, but he would take a HELL of a beating in the process. Either way, win or lose, Broner takes a beating vs Rios. You clearly don't understand the importance of footwork in boxing. You say Rios is a bully, but what does that make Broner? And by the way, Rios is not a bully. He's the real deal. He's a true *******. In the street, you would have to kill him to beat him.
Maidana is only limited to Margarito and Pac's fans. Broner imo just wasn't used to ww. Now that's my guess. Rios is a bum now, and what you said about footwork...man I oughta slap yo ass.
I agree it's a shitty, horrible fight but a very smart move for Broner. He was looking at fighting Maidana again which would have been a possible career ending move for him because he was most likely going to lose again and worse the second time. Now he will pick up a win - got a good one - but a win. And he'll be much better off than he would have been.
Fighters don't think like fans. When they lose, they don't do what Kostya did and make a business decision to avoid the fighter who beat them. Fighters just don't think that if I do a rematch it could be a career ender. Shane turned out ok after losing to Forrest twice. Dlh did too after losing to Shane twice. Broner wanted Maidana again. Who wouldn't want a rematch after losing like that?
