Alexander outboxed Maidana with little difficulty and the fight was not close. Obviously not a "fraud". Unless Maidana is a fraud as well. And then we're rather devaluing the word "fraud".

Broner is in great shape and weight well above the 154 range at fight time. He look like a welter to me too. At the lower weight he could walk through guys at 135 - 140. Problem at 147 is most top guys in this weight crack when they punch and can take punches.

 

He didn't run at all. He tried to walk down Maidana for perhaps half the fight, a dangerous strategy. Although he had some success with it.

He did fight dirty. But, his pushing was an attempt to make room to fire his punches because Madana was smothering him.

 

To me he is far too squared up when he throws his right hand, resulting in it having less power. He has good uppercuts but he doesnt "dig them" ala someone like Thurman just did. He just whips them out there, same with throwing hooks. Sure the punch comes out fast and returns just as fast, technically correct but he ain't putting anyone away @ 147 with punches like that...

I called it for Marcos but I saw good things in Broner. He's a young fighter who needs maturity but he can be great. 2 weight classes is a big deal. Facing a dangerous fighter like Miadana in the 2nd fight at that weight was ballsy.
