Please. Stop with this BS. His conditioning seemed good. What got to him was, like all people that know a little about boxing knows, his shitty body defense. Maidana throwing the body jab left hook from same position: Boom, catching him upstairs.
Broner was very lucky he made it out the start of the fight. He showed good ability to recover from getting rocked and dropped, I'll give him that.

Last major network fight of the year gives us the Upset of the Year!!! I scored the fight big for Maidana, 9-3 rounds, 116-109 points, giving Broner rounds 3, 6, and 12, and giving Maidana round 2 10-8, and round 8 9-8 (with the point deduction), for the hard knockdowns. Maidana simply physically overwhelmed Broner with his superior workrate and power shots. Broner, for all his natural ability, mostly stood in the pocket, eating all those power shots, and his own workrate was nowhere near enough to put off Maidana, and Broner only very rarely showed the power to stun Maidana. Malignaggi made an excellent point about Broner being unable to effectively counterpunch Maidana, and this was another fatal flaw of Broner's tonight. For someone who patterns himself after Floyd, Broner showed neither the handspeed, foot movement, defense, nor ring generalship that have made Floyd what he is. Broner obviously needs to go back down to 140, and reboot himself, with an actual TEAM instead of a bunch of "yes men" hacks. I was VERY impressed by the 3 official judges, this was the BEST job by Texas official judges that I have seen in a few years!!! What a fight!!! What a year!!!

Explain to us the dramatic performance he put on when he was hit with that little headbutt. He was looking for a way out, even the Showtime announcers said the same thing.

Adrien Broner's move to WW was always going to fail.. and he probably planned on Maidana showing up for a check or being faded. He's not.

Not surprised at all this happened, and anyone who actually pays attention to the sport and has watched the fights knew that Maidana was going cause all kinds of problems for the Problem.

Not saying it was given Maidana would win, but it meant Broner would have to step to a new level.. and it was never 100% clear he had that level to step too.. but every boxer before they become elite has that fight they step to that next level against a tough guy and show they have that special talent.

Broner didn't/doesn't have that.. no shame in losing to Maidana.. he's a tough fight for anyone.

Broner is the size of Manny. 140 would be perfect for him. 147 was a little aggressive against someone like Marcos but he can fight and he showed toughness. He did try to get a DQ win with an emmy winning performance but who could blame him......he was getting bullied by a real physical welterweight.

this is a non-sequitur. Has nothing to do with your original point about "running". Nothing whatever.

Who said he was not conditioned? I responded to someone who bought up fight night weight as Broner not being the smaller man in there.

Broner fought like hell but does not belong at welter

He weighed 157 on the night. Maidana 161 on the night.

Not an ounce of fat on Broner and you're saying he isn't a welterweight? Well fk me.
Coming in at 144.7 the day before on the weigh in was probably just a miscalculation on their part, cut more than he needed to...
But yeah he could probably make 140, I don't see him making 135 ever again.
