Broner also lifts weight. He isnt going to look fat, he could move to 154 and still be ripped because of the weight lifting. He's adding muscle but that doesnt mean his body is ready for 147. He is forcing it trying to be like floyd instead of letting his body grow into it. An he needs to put the weights down, he's physically strong as hell but he is also kinda stiff.

Alot of Fail, alot of fail in this thread the delusion of some of you Broner fan boys is mind numbing. This was a war Broner clearly didn't have the stomach for. He is the Black Victor Ortiz

Ricky hatton could fight at light heavy weight based on his actual weight but to claim Ricky is a "real" light heavy weight because it says 175 on the scales is looney. Ricky was a real jr welterweight but he fought at 147 a few times.....he was not as effective because physically he just wasn't a full fledged welterweight.

Well that's your opinion. I personally expected Broner to out-class Maidana, beat him to the punch, box and move a bit but stand his ground and grind him down. I wasn't sold on Broner to the hilt, I never thought he would be "the second coming of Mayweather", but I thought stylistically he had the beating of men like El Chino.

That was the prevailing opinion it seems, many thought Broner would do even better than I thought. So in actual fact, Broner has seriosuly under-achieved tonight.

I will agree with you on that Broner has heart. Anyone that gets in the ring with a guy like Maidana and manages to make it last has a ton of heart. It's nothing special though, Kotelnik, Khan and Alexander all did better jobs on Maidana. Broner looked poor against Malignaggi, supposedly did poor against PDL, and got hit far too much against Rees.

It's clear to me now that as talented as Broner is, there is something not quite right. The hype and the reality (his performances) are distressingly far apart.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

I just gave you guys rated in the top 10 of the weight and you come here and call them small. Just completely flew over your head didn't it. The point is, he is not small for the weight when a big chunk of the top guys at welter are the same size if not smaller. :deal

NO if he weighs in at 154 and hydrates up another 10 pounds he would probably look fat. In that case clearly that would be the wrong weight class for him.

He needs to work on his skills and tactics, thats what cost him this fight!

Guess you don't know what a real welter looks like either.

I was in here before the fight saying I would be surprised if Broner made it the distance and that Broner should have been the under dog.

I believe that Broner proved he can be great in this loss......to me he did better than expected against Marcos. Broner is a talented fighter with some serious skills but he aint Manny or Floyd where they can fight guys with 15 to 20 lbs weight advantages and come out with a dominant win. He's a special fighter who needs to know his role and at what weight he can leverage to maximize his boxing potential......147 was aggressive and I appreciated the fact he took that leap because it was a ballsy move. It just didn't pay off lime he had hoped.

Because they are small, just highly skilled. All of those guys didnt start at welter. Look at the welters throughout history and those guys are noticeably smaller.

I did not like Broner before the fight and after he tried to **** Maidana in the corner he made my list of fighters who I want to see put to sleep. He comes off as a child and got in there with a man who would have none of his facade. Everything from his fat mouth to his stupid trunks with About Billions on them is irritating. This was a very good year in boxing and seeing Broner crying his way to the locker room was my icing on the cake.

Agreed. He didnt listen to the corner at all and at the first sign of adversity he was yelling back at his corner. He didnt change tactics at all.

If a freight train is coming straight toward you, you have to move out of the way. Broner just stood there staring at the lights and got run over. His footwork was non existent.
