He is very beatable. Definitely not the next Mayweather. He is light on athleticism and brain power.

He is the biggest clown in boxing and loathsome as a personality.

However, like him or not he is marketable. Indeed many folk tune in specifically to watch him fight in the hope he’ll get beat. When on PPV his viewing figures are good with a peak of 1.3m for the Malignaggi fight (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/boxing/adrien-broner-hits-grand-slam-showtime-two-most-225714943.html). That’s pretty good going.

Some folk criticise him because his low intelligence, but maybe he is a bit smarter than he gets credit for. Chris Eubank made a fortune out of creating a persona that inspired hatred. Not a bad business plan. You don’t need to be Mr Nice Guy to rake in the cash. Maybe Broner has the same idea.

    Spot on. :good

Broner is just another American hype-job, simple.

Give it 12-18 months and he will have disappeared.

the thing is thatveven though guys like Pac, Cotto and Floyd choose the safest fights now they fought the best availble on their way up and thats whatvput them in the drivers seat. Broner would have to beats Garcia, Matthyse, Provo, Peterson and some top ww to get to that spot

I think he did have the same idea... the problem is the execution. Broner gets mocked instead of hated. I think its harder than it looks to be a douchebag that rakes in the cash.

Even though some people make Floyd comparisons, the thing is even though Floyd has been garbage the past few years (and is nowhere near p4p#1 , just holds that spot out of inertia) Floyd DID actually prove he was a great fighter when he was coming up.

Too many people, especially those who want to emulate him, forget that at one point in time Floyd was taking the hard fights to prove something.

If he was dominating his opponents and was a pri*k, that's one thing. But he struggles against B- opponents and is a pri*k. He may be on PPV as the B side, like a Mayorga (who was still very likeable despite his persona). But the fact is if he is ever on PPV, it will be against elite fighters, which has yet to decisively beat.

The thing is we don't know whats inside that contract, I'll reserve judgement when I at least know what the major stipulations are.
