Can we just come to some sort of middle ground on the guy? He's NOT unbeatable at 140 or any weight for that matter, he's not the next Floyd, but he's also not going to lose to every single top 10-15 junior welter in the world. He's a talented, top 10 jr. welter who thinks a little too much of himself. He's IN THE MIX with the top 5-10 in his division, nothing more nothing less or am I being wayyy to rational for a boxing forum
That sounds way too reasonable. This is an internet boxing forum buddy. Fighters fall into exactly TWO categories. 1.ATG destructive monsters 2. Disgraceful glass jawed bums ...That is all
He's an excellent young prospect. I think the biggest issue he's had up to this point is also one of his best traits- he's very ambitious-- and him jumping up from 135 to 147 a few years back was a rushed maneuver on him/his handlers' part. He should do what most fighters do when going up in weight class- take your time, allow your body to fill into the weight class properly and most importantly- don't jump up more than 1 weight class at a time. He's definitely very beatable, anybody with a high punch output and a good chin stands a chance at beating him. He's way too stationary of a target in the center of the ring. If he learned how to utilize his footwork and head movement a lot more, he could be so much better than he's already shown.
100 percent agreed they rushed it and took a big leap....broner stabrone just going thru some "growing pains"....not to mention maidana fought dirty against him too....just no one cares because they got what they wanted...which was him getting knocked and taking an l
Agreed. The man is obviously very talented. My main criticism hasn't been about his ability, it has been about what I perceive to be a lack of focus and work ethic. Broner could be more than what he is, if he really focused and worked. Just forget the "About Billions" routine for a while and get to work. He's missed weight twice already in his young career in 2 different divisions. A guy as young as Broner shouldn't be missing weight. I don't understand why the "next Floyd" talk started. Similarities, but Broner never displayed the versatility of Mayweather at 130 pounds. I've yet to see him fight on his toes, and I don't think he's capable of it. I think Broner has stamina issues. (See paragraph above) Which is also why he minimizes output, conserves energy, and the primary reason he couldn't finish Molina in my view. He was worried about punching himself out and then getting caught while he was tired. Stamina. There was no other reason. He had Molina shook from the opening bell. Guy had no clue what to do.
Hes a very good fighter , I think he beats a lot of top fighters but will lose when he inevitably fights Matthysse . That just 1 mountain he cant climb .
