I've always felt the trick was alternating your weave speed(fast/slow/inbetween) and adding in some more "standup boxing" ala Patterson. The bob n' weaving style has its pluses but if it's being used too often then a clever boxer type can definitely learn the timing and exploit your head movement to their advantage. keeping your weaving and punches short, concise, and efficient is one of the keys to this style.

my teacher learned it from d'amato and he does a pretty solid job of breaking this style down

Tyson fought for the first time for a title in 1986 and the last time in 2002. That´s 16 years, take away the time he was in prison and it´s still 12 years. 12 years in which he was fighting ranked fighters. Yes that´s longevity, even when he wasn´t that good in his 2nd career anymore. Still a Top5 fighter in the 90s.

    lol :rofl:rofl

He was only good for 6 yrs 1985-1991 where is record was 41-1 - BUT for teh other 10 yrs of his career 1995-2005 his record a shitty 9-5 LMAO. :rofl

Tyson Fan-Girls use teh "4 Yrs 'n' 2 month layoff excuse"" - BUt that his own fault for being a CRIMINAL And IMO he still look 95% of his BESt/Peak in 1995 And 1996. Anyway - VITLAY had a 4 Yr layoff just like Tyson And his record in teh 3 yrs he been comback is 6-0,, Tyson's Record in teh 1st 3 yrs of his comback was 4-2 lol. Same no. of fights in 1st 3 Yrs after 4 yr layoff, except VITLAY had 100% win record in them 3 yrs And Tyson had 70% win record in his LAMO. :rofl

Surely you see a huge decline in his ability to use the peek a boo style. I wouldnt say he sustained that style for 16 years .

I don´t think his abilitys really declined. I also don´t think his style changed much. I think there are more factors that lead to his demise. After prison he was much more muscle-bound and thus slower than before - and like mentioned before to execute this style perfectly you need speed. Already before his prison time he started buying in his own hype. He started to think he can KO everyone. His skills didn´t really decline. He got sloppy and abandoned some of the things that made him great because he thought he could KO everyone anyway. Because he was that dominant. Compare that with Hamed, something similar happened to him. Factor in his mental instability and you have his post prison career.

    V.good Xpert post. :thumbsup
IMO 1995-1997 Tyson was BARLEY-Changed in his Style, Ability And skills from how he was in 1986-1988.
Mikey still looked 95% of his Best/PEAK VS McNeeley, Manthis, Bruno2.
He were down to aprox. 85% of his PEAK/best VS Botha - BUT VS Savareze he was back to 90% of his Peak. Tyson looked v.v.good in teh 1st Round VS Lennox - IMO v.nearly 95% of his PEAK. AND in teh fight after Lennox, when he VS Etteinne, Tyson look 95% of his PEAK again And Clifford was One of teh Top 5 best ppl Tyson ever Beat And he did it in 1 Round - so Lennox deserve way more Credit for his win. :deal

Tyson only really used the peak a boo style while under Rooney, once he severed ties with his former team he was a totally different, he was a slugger from the Bruno fight onwards. He used the peak a boo style from 84/5-88. 89-05 he was a slugger
A pattern began to show in his later fights, whenever he got hit with a jab, he would then do a poor bob and weave and then revert back to beign a slugger
