In which fight? The only one he won right, so the 4th? It was by trading. The 4th fight was a war. Did you watch it? He stood straight in front of Pacquiao and took a beating. He took so much of a beating that his corner was going to pull him the next round because Marquez couldn't breathe through his nose.

Also, Marquez didn't feint Pacquiao as much as I thought when I went back and watched it. In fact, he feinted him so little up to the 6th round that I don't even think it was a huge factor in the fight.

Who has beaten Pacquiao period? Especially in the last 10 years? It's a short list. That's just a silly question in general.

Trading with Pacquiao plays into HIS STRENGTHS. It would make zero sense to employ that strategy. Why, if you are going to fight Manny, would you play into his strengths as a fighter?

Both Marquez and Morales "boxed" Pacquiao. They didn't go in there trading. Yes, Pacquiao is great and can force some action, but you need to not get caught up with that and fight him smart.

Pacquiao was knocked out by a right hand counter. That's not "trading." He countered Pacquiao's flick jab.

The first knockdown JMM had was also not the result of trading. He feinted low, Manny dropped his guard, and right hook upstairs. Down.

None of Juan's success came when he was "trading" with Pacquiao. If anything, that caused several knockdowns for him, and lost him the 2nd fight.

That was under special circumstances with pac going into the punch jmm landed 1000 right hands on pac before he got that lucky punch

infact he landed the exact same shot in the 5th round after pac knocked jmm down never did anything again if anyone is banking on getting a freak shot on pac they can keep wishing happens once in a million

Marquez and Morales were willing to trade though

The Mexican "boxer" really is different stylistically from the American boxer

and as previously mentioned, Bradley had more success in the rematch because he really went for it

If Mayweather fights his usual fight, hes in trouble imo

    He better come out aggressively

No. If they could have continued to box for all 12, they would have. That's a result of Manny forcing some action, and also some of that Aztec Mexican mentality. Many Mexican fighters have a problem with getting caught up in exchanges after being hit.

The "success they had" vs Pacquiao, was not in those wild exchanges. It was when they were "boxing" Pacquiao.

Saying they traded punches with Pacquiao, doesn't mean they "wanted" to trade. Pacquiao is a great fighter, and can force the issue.

When I say trading I meant that he and Moralez were willing to engage

Mayweather is usually more content trying to control range and avoids engaging which may be problematic for him

Complete technical breakdown of Mayweather: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTSJqpOkgRo

See his techniques for yourself. Just adding more information to the discussion. Warning, video is 50 minutes long. Lots of scouting on Mayweather.

Hardcore Pac fans might find it interesting to spot weaknesses in Floyd's techniques. :deal

I've been trying my best to foster technical/tactical discussion on this mega fight. We've had years of trolling, let's have some actual boxing discussion. :bbb

Are you se...? No. We both know this isn't going to go anywhere, so I'm not even going to bother. It'll only be a destructive spiral down to a fruitless outcome and wasted time.

Gentleman, I think the difference is once Pacman engaged Marquez was willing to sit down and throw with intent. With Mayweather I guess he will try to pop Manny when he's passive. That's why I think aggression is key!

Pacquiao wasn't knocked out by a right hand counter? Explain.

Do I really need to post a video of the knockout? It was the same damn punch Manny Pacquiao caught 1,000 times prior. It's nothing new. That punch was always there for Marquez. It just caught Manny on the sweet spot this time.

I think you guys are seriously under-estimating the pop in Floyd's punches. Just IMO. And Floyd does sit down on that right hand when he throws it.
