    Hi everyone,
This is my first post. I started taking boxing classes 2 months ago and tried sparring for the first time last week. I really liked it and decided to buy my own sparring gloves.

After reading a lot i understand that 50$ is not enough to invest in great quality gear but nonetheless this is my budget... once you add up taxes, shipping and conversion to Canadian Dollar this 50$ will cost a lot more... And I am also looking for some HeadGear so in total this is going to be pricey... I already have hand wraps, mouth guard and bag gloves.

So after spending some time reading, these are the choices i came up with, let me know which one you think is best ( and why ) and also if you have an alternative recommendation feel free to share !

First I decided to go with 16oz instead of 14oz... because it seems 16oz is the most standard sparring weight, it builds more endurance and is safer... im not looking to go into real fights and competitions stuff, boxing for me is just for fun.

    Everlast protex2 vinyl gloves 40$:
I think i like these gloves because of all the "features" it packs, for example I like the fact it has "enhanced" wrist support because i have really small wrists and think i could use that support. The only down side I think is that it is not real leather, the leather version is 99$. Correct me if im wrong but the whole point of having leather is to make the glove more durable ? in which case i think for my purposes its not a big issue, if I will be sparring maybe once per week max on average ? I figure that instead of spending for the "durability" id spend for the features/design of the glove ?

TITLE Classic Hook-and-Loop Leather Training Gloves 40$ :
These gloves were recommended by an advanced member in another forum ( here ) they are in leather so thats good i guess. I prefer these over #3 as it looks like they have more "features" and also because they are cheaper.

    TITLE Hook-and-Loop Training Gloves 50$ :
These are more expensive but they fit my budget and were also recommended by the same forum guy above. Also made of leather.

Alternatively, there is a fourth option Zeepk Boxing gloves / Headguard , which is a boxing glove headgear combo for 35$... although im not sure about the quality of this brand... i think id rather buy things separately...

Let me know what you think, Any input would be much appreciated, thanks !

ADmin should be able to move it for you. Just my 2 cents about your fist glove option you said that what you like about them is the wrist support. Aren't you taping your gloves when you spar? That should give your wrists all the protection they need.

I like the Hook-and-Loops. I recommend using a heavy pair for sparring. Then when it comes to actual match-ups, the official gloves will feel much lighter, giving you an increase in speed, power, and stamina. When I was in training, our trainers made us train with the heavy gloves, then on fight night, the gloves weight difference had us feeling almost as though we were only fighting with wraps on.

Thewoo : no we dont put tape around our gloves... I only use handwraps ... so if a gloves offer added wrist support i think its a good thing...

J.E.Cash : well i dont think i will go into real boxing matches. All the gloves i mentionned were hook and loops, but which one is best ?

    thanks
