Join a reputable ABC in your area. Don't get fit to join, join and get fit. You'll achieve more fitness wise in there whilst learning the techniques at the same time.
I work shifts as well and know how draining they are. Just got to force yourself to get out and do it. I'm 23 and have the same goals as you by the way so I wish you well.

Get your diet sorted, it's 90% of the battle.

As someone already said, just join a gym and start training to actually burn the fat and increase your fitness levels.

Interval is definitely a good way to lose weight and improve cardio fitness. Make sure you don't overdo it at the start because you'll risk injury though. I'd recommend downloading insanity or similar programme because it only takes an hour tops and can be done whenever you get time which is obviously good because of your job.
