    Hey guys,

Last time I did one of these for my sparring I got a really good responce so was hoping for a simular responce on here. Don't worry, I'm not the kind of person who will cry if you critique me and I don't expect compliments.

It makes me laugh when people post videos and you say 'you should do this' and they go mental and tell you how you know nothing!!! I personally would prefer 100 replies saying 'you are ****, but here is how you can get better' than 'you are amazing. (fullstop)' does that make sense?

So go for it guys... one thing I will say is I'm a kickboxer so I don't move quite as much as a boxer with my feet because we tend to distribute our weight differently so we are ready to block kicks and throw them back.

    Couple of jab questions:
    1. Any advice on how to speed up my jab?
    2. My arm seems to come out when I jab - Should this be straighter?

    Kind regards,

You seem to use too much of your arm when you jab, sometimes you draw back a little, just shoot it straight from your guard, and if you want more power, step with it. Also try and tuck your chin a little better, especially when throwing the hook. Overall, I though you looked pretty good, was kinda hard for me to critique cause you obviousley are more of a kickboxer, haha.

    Hi.
I thought it looked fine, the only thing I noticed was that when you throw single jab your elbow seemed to raise a little before the actual punch, that is a sign experienced oponents will see. Work on to shoot the jab straight out, hard and snappy without the elbow.
When you punched several jabs together they looked better but seemed to be without any power. When you do that use your feet going forward, timed with your jabs and you´ll see you get great power in each jab. Try that on the pads.
In style you had a stance that I would like to change until I remembered, you are a kickboxer, their stance are a little different casue of the kicks. I had a girl that had the exact same stance and she was a kickboxer as well.
I think you looked good and you surprised me with your first kick, that was when I remembered " Ah, yes. he´s a kickboxer!" Keep up the good work.

You bring your right hand back slow. Im guessing you rarely move your head because of kicks?

your elbows fly out to the side and that is something to work on for a start.I was looking at your punch delivery and i think you could generate more power if you set down on your weight a little more and speed it up a bit too....I know you are primarily a kick boxer but the delivery of the punches relies on both speed and weight in tandem.

You can "arm punch" when you are expecting a kick to come and have leg check at the ready but if you know the 3 basic ranges of kickboxing then you will know when to fully commit your body to the punches and when to play it safe.

By and by you look to be punching ok so keep up the learning and the results will follow.:good

Watch those elbows, so that they dont lift. It will speed up your jab too, because it will be a straigher line. Im not to sure about your stance, i don't want to mess up your kickboxing. Definitly to have more strength on those jabs and right hands you need a steadier balance, meaning your legs have to be more static. Of course, im pretty sure this goes against some kickboxing basics but thats my boxing 2 cents...

Thanks so much for all the advice, does anyone have any links to a video / written guide on how to do the perfect jab for speed and power? I'd love to read about / watch a description of how to throw the perfect jab. Might make a seperate thread to catch a bit more attention.

    Thanks again guys :)
