    Hi all,
I am new to this forum and this industry so please be patient.

My younger cousin has decided to take up boxing and has not told any of his family. He's approached me to help him on his new venture.
I know nothing about boxing apart from the usual general stuff.

Anyway I want to buy him a pair of gloves and I have been looking online and the prices vary quite a bit. I do not know what to get and what size.
I've seen some that look identical but the prices different and the oz is different. What oz would he need?

Would you recommend getting training gloves, or just a pair of normal gloves, is there a difference?

The ones i've seen on eBay are made by Voco Sports, I've never heard of them actually I haven't heard of any of them apart from Everlast? Does having a branded pair mean they are better or last longer?

The ones I have seen are: eBay item number:111848388130

    Thanks for your help
    :happy

Best are Winning, Grants and Cleto Reyes. VERY expensive but the best.

The best value for money is from Twins, Fairtex and Sandee. I have Twins and they are perfect.

    Get 16oz

Are these available in the UK? Never heard of most of those. I have heard of Winning and Grants.

    Lace up or Velcro?

Velcro as you require somebody else to lace them up for you.

    This site is worth it.

muaythai fighting . com is the place.

I like RDX training gloves, pretty good and cheap (at least the models in leather), those are made in UK and so far mine are quite protective and confortable. Stay away from Everlast and Adidas.

i like cleto reyes. you really get your moneys worth, its about almost 200. its a punchers gloves. not as much padding as winning and grants. grants you have to special order and can cost over 400 for a pair. Winning are my next pair of gloves and those can be about 300.

I can't believe people are prepared to spend hundreds of pounds on boxing gloves. What a waste of money.
