Advice on some bettting....

there is no value in that, you lose one play then all of the money is gone, a lot of people make big combos of favourites and expect to win some big money.
But it rarely goes like its planned thats why bookies make a lot of money of people.
If you want to make money with betting thats really great but do it the right way, which means money management,watching fights, predict outcomes and look for value.
Lets say for example you pick abraham over froch and can get a odd of 1.90 ( sorry for using decimal instead of fracions but you will get the idea)
at a certain bookie while most bookies have AA at 1.60 then thats geat value and worth putting some money on.
Combos are good but just with a few in them, example 2/3 fights with 1.3 odds will give you a nice bet.
playing the matches individually will increase your winning chances in the long run if you have good knowledge of a certain sport and good moneymanagement. Betting is a marathon not a sprint.
Now just a very brief valueprediction on these fights:
marquez to win/lopez by ko
-margarito to win/pac by decision
- martinez williams at the moment a no play because of the weight
-abraham by ko or fight doesnt go the distance
-jmm katsidis: no bet at the moment
-khan vs maidana: either by ko
-pascal over hopkins although the value is probably at hopkins.

Making a combo with that much live dogs in it is doomed to fail, just spot the best bets play them right and make money.

If you parlay more than 3 fights then your chances of hitting are VERY minimal.

Don't get so excited about the miracle big payout, and focus more on building your cash in smaller incriments.

 

What Cesare said and I'd stay away from the Pascal/Hopkins bout.

 

I almost always bet to win 10% of my cash balance.

Long odds are fun but they are just that, long odds.

I think you wanna make a solid bet, bet on Froch to upset Abraham.

Keep an eye on the odds for Green vs Johnson. If Johnson makes weight the first shot but doesn't come in 2-3 pounds under, bet on him.

Pascal vs Hopkins, bet the over. Even at 1/5 that's a good value bet

 

Philla is the ****ing man. Listen to him, don't listen to the sheep on ESB they just follow the herd; Abraham is getting ****ing schooled! Just beware of Sauerland paying the judges off since Abraham is their last fighter in the S6 so there's a strong chance Froch'll get robbed. Sauerland pretty much admitted in the last 360 he'll do whatever it takes to ensure his man wins.

I think Hopkins can & will beat Pascal but it's in Canada so anything can happen....

 

if you wanna bet on Froch you should do it now because come fight night the brits will probably have tipped the odds in his favour.

If you're gonna bet on Abraham, you should wait a while.

Parlays are for suckers. If you like parlays, don't ever exceed 2-3 team/player parlays because you're odds get even more screwed.

 

This. I've said it a couple of times on the boards here - I used to gamble on sports for a living. Bookies love for you to buy parlays. They're a lot of fun but if you're bothered about the winnings or the money that you are betting then don't do this.

From a personal standpoint, I don't think Pascal has a shot, either.

I also believe that the books are wise to Green, who is a punk, and have opened with Johnson a solid favorite at almost 1/2.

 

The 41 year old Johnson who has looked more faded in each of his last few fights and who is sucking down to 168lbs has no value to bet on if he's the favourite in the fight. Green is terrible, but there's no value in Johnson at those odds.

As a bettor myself, I tend to do so infrequently and only when I see the odds are far out of whack such as in Hopkins vs. Tarver. I don't even bet on Floyd, really, since the oddsmakers get it right with him and put him in as a heavy favourite when he fights. I will probably bet on him when he fights Pacquiao, though, since I think a lot of people will bet with their hearts on Pacquiao and give me decent odds.
