After seeing Woods underperforming last night, and given Calzaghe's lack of previous US bouts, I'm seriously concerned about how much effect it'll have on him.

Ok, Calz has fought in Germany and Denmark before but hopping on the train and a 1 hour time difference is a little different from what? 9 hours difference?

The other effect is simply crowd support. Sounds silly but when things are going bad the crowd does help.

Woods at home needed the crowd to get behind him to beat Glen Johnson when things got rocky. Last night he was on his own and shrank.

Hopkins' age and his performances against Taylor are against him but on the spread betting, given the travelling uncertainty, I gotta say

    Sell Calzaghe :?

I think it'll have some affect on Calzaghe since this is his first fight in the U.S. and all the american's are gonna' be goin' the **** off.. Shouldn't throw off Calzaghe too much tho.. The crowd did **** Woods up last night, but Woods is no Calzaghe.. Woods is overrated and is just a bottom contender..

No surprise Calzaghe and his fans saw this fight as his "glorious" retirement fight. It "made the most sense", they said.

It's a shitty excuse. They're professionals, traveling and going to a hostile area is part and parcel of what their job entails. If they can't handle that aspect and are only good fighting in their hometown then they are ****.

Calzaghe fans will be so much more vocal than Hopkins it will seem like a home venue for Joe.
