Found this in the MMA section on the yahoo site. "It was also interesting to hear Atencio's refusal to give out pre-event ticket sales. When pressed on the issue by MMAJunkie's John Morgan, Atencio would not confirm or deny that reports of just 1,500 tickets sold were accurate." :-(
truth is most people who arn't on the net really havn't heard of Affliction or know nothing about it. I get every UFC ppv with a bunch of buddies but nobody follows it as much as I do. None of them have heard of Fedor either because he hasn't really been exposed yet in north America. most people who will be at the Afliction show will be hardcore fans who follow the sport in depth. The Affliction name besides shirts just really isn't known as fight promoter yet....and getting started is the hardest thing.
Affliction might be long gone unless they can secure a jump to TV somehow. Perhaps they could work out something with Showtime? And all this means is that we might see Fedor in the UFC sooner than expected? Hmm?
I hope so there is alot of great matchups for him now if the Barnett fight can't be made. But i don't mind another org that is at least half decent because there is almost too many guys for the UFC to keep busy.
