Highly doubt it. Fedor's manager is a rat. Him and his rat manager will go "partner" with some more people willing to front a shitload of money.. and eventually milk them dry. Then move onto another sucker.
Affliction was in trouble with Fedor and Barnett fighting. I'm sure Affliction's investors didn't want to gamble on ppv numbers with a replacement for Fedor. I know I went from being a paying customer to trying to find a way to check it out online with the loss of Barnett.
Affliction the company isn't in trouble, or if they are it has nothing to do with their mma card failing. Affliction sells t shirts to frat boys, holding mma shows is a mix between hobby and advertisement. Once people stop wearing affliction shirts, then they will be in trouble. Like I said their is a deal that's either done or close to it to get affliction sponsoring UFC fighters again, that's almost as good for advertising with a millionth the pain in the ass and about that much less cash. Atencio is a fighter and ran his shows because he could and to advertise, turning an operating profit on the shows themselves was never the goal and I suspect never imagined, it isn't the crux of affliction to run mma shows.
Let's assume Fedor fights for the UFC title, does he vacate his WAMMA strap? This would destroy WAMMA's legitemacy IMO....
Just looking at WAMMA'd raankings in the HW division, they have it like this: 1. Barnett 2. Mir 3. Arlovski 4. Lesnar Not sure if this has been updated since UFC 100 but there rules state the title is only defended against rank 1 or 2 and since Barnett has excluded himself and Arlovski has already been crushed by Fedor this only leaves 2 UFC fighters in Mir and Lesnar and I can't see the UFC recognizing the WAMMA title on any of their cards. Where does Fedor and WAMMA go from here?
I felt Bad for those affected specially the fighters who worked their asses off and the Hardcore fans who's been waiting for this Card, its not something like EliteXC's demise, Its just too Bad for the sport for an ORG who's giving Die Hard Fans some Great Cards
Oh well.... No company can beat the UFC, it's almost impossible now. Only Pride had the best shot, but we know how that ship sunk.
This was going to be the last affliction show anyway. The show being cancelled does not mean it's more likely tha Fedor will go the UFC. Fedor has conditions he wants met and UFC wont do that.
It has been confirmed that Affliction will once again become a approved sponsor of the UFC. Apparently there was also talk of Affliction merging with Stirkeforce but nothing came of it.
This is fkn terrible, we had a big group of new fedor fans arranged to go watch it too. I dont know about you guys but i love the set up of affliction events. it's all such high quality. lets hope it stays
