The only reason he's receiving this parade is because they genuinely believe he's a world champion. A lot of these people have no internet access and with little previous history of boxing in Afghanistan they don't know that the WBU belt is fraudulent bull****.

If these people knew the truth, they wouldn't treat him like a hero.

as opposed to you that is gobbing off on an internet forum hiding behind a fake name and if probably picking up dole money, whilst the guy you are abusing is actually out there doing something positive.

    Bravo

Dude while I have no issues as good can come of this, the amount of praise.and attention this guy is getting is unwarranted.. Hes more well known then many real great world champions.. Dont you have a problem with overrated fighters, let alone ones with fake belts being praised by a nation?

I dont think anyone is jealous of his acheivement. I could go down the local chippy next week or Argos and pick up a WBU belt
    ...

  6. If this is a spark that ignites boxing in Afghanistan, this is a terrific thing.

So his people think he's a real world champion, so what? Let them have it. There have been many people with minor world title belts that were paraded around like real champions - Ricky Hatton for one pre-Tszyu.

With this guy, it's not the achievement, it's what comes from it. It was a similar thing with Georgi Kandelaki.

  7. What praise is he getting outside of his home nation?

Look, the time will come when people will become more aware of the tenets of boxing in Afghanistan, and they will realise that the guy is not a real champion. But until that point, ignorance on this occasion is bliss.

It doesn't seem to me like he has deceived them at all. Apart from the fact that he probably didn't start boxing in 1385, it looks like they are pretty clear on the fact that he is not THE World Champion.

I get that the WBU is BS and fully agree but Afghanistan having a remotely decent journeyman in a sport that's practically non existent in their country is still a great feel good story and promotes boxing in an area that can use it. This thread reeks of mocking the Afghani people and a fighter who no doubt worked his ass off and battled through greater adversity than any of us will ever know to get where he is. He'd still whup anyone thats posted in this thread with ease. Get mad at the WBU, don't get mad at the Afghani people for rallying behind a glimmer of athletic hope or the fighter for learning how to box well enough to have a respectable pro record coming out of a beyond oppressive country that has no boxing history. This is a positive for Afghanistan, the young fighter and the promotion of boxing. I hope he does well.

Why does this bother you as a person?

The place is wore torn, and a miserable **** like you is on a forum living in another continent trying to **** on there parade.

Most of the belts today are bull ****, and if you haven't grasped that concept by now then you need to chill the **** out and follow another sport.

    Peace.

Great to see any boxer getting that much support in his home country, especially in this case given what Afghanistan is going through. But the WBU is a joke, and the man has done nothing to warrant being called world champion.

There's hundreds of people with records just like his from poor countries all over the world. Shall we give them made up world title belts so they can become heroes in their homelands?

I didn't set up this thread to mock the Afghani people, a lot of people have interpreted it that way but that's not what was intended, if you read my OP carefully you will see that.

Yes this thread is attacking the WBU mainly but also the fact that this guy is proclaiming himself as a hero.
