Yes mate quite sad. Why Vic has not received the publicity that Tzsyu and Fenech got and less then Hall and other moderates on the aussie scene is very very sad

 

I think it's got a lot to do with the fact that both Fenech and Tszyu had a lot of their fights shown on free-to-air TV and a lot of people got to see them in the comfort of their own homes and find out more about them that way.

Nowadays that doesn't exist (apart from the OneHD boxing, but Vic is too big a name to start appearing on the likes of that).

 

Because it's Australian sporting media who

A) Know nothing about the sport in detail whatsoever

B) Because Vic didn't win.

B) as has been said there wasn't much publicity for him prior to thjis fight when he was an undisputed champ

 

IMO I'd like to see Hall just train and fight. I haven't been in Oz for many years but I can imagine a media circus going on for 6 months odd based on nothing. When Hall has done something which can be used as a reference point to where he's at in boxing then his potential might be interesting subject matter ... but no doubt there will be endless speculation on the net and in the media based on off-hand opinions, which is a poor substitute for actual boxing.

BTW: I'm a Port Power supporter and have little interest in the Swans.

 

The timing for Kostya was just right, fenech was mainstream and Tszyu came on the scene just as Fenech was finished (on the undercard), and also been trained by Lewis he was adopted as the man to get revenge on the world after fenech lost to Nelson
Had Kostya arrived on the scene years later like Vic did he would probably be in the same boat as Vic with the media.
