Roger Mayweather said Pacquiao had no shot at DLH, he was wrong. He later said Pacquiao had no shot at Cotto, he was wrong. This is just what Pacquiao needs, motivation.

I'm not so much a biased Pacquiao fan, i try to be objective. When people say Mayweather is too big they forget Pacquiao has annihilated bigger opponents than Floyd. When people say Floyd will TKO Pacquiao cause he has no defense, they #1 greatly underestimate Pacquiao's defense, #2 have already forgotten the 2 maiden fights where a defenseless Maidana never got hurt and #3 greatly overestimate Mayweather's power. When people say Floyd will dominate after 6 rounds cause Pac will slow down, they forget Pacquiao is no Judah or Mosely, he never gets tired and continues to be busy for 12 rounds. Expecting Pacquiao to slow down or Floyd to hurt him is hardly backed up by their past fights.

It will be very interesting to see what Floyd does when he realizes Pacquiao is so fast, has a heavy punch, is harder to hit than he thought and never gets tired. Everytime Floyd counters, Pacquiao can counter and given Floyd doesn't have a speed advantage, he will quickly find out countering is risky too. I think we will see floyd get very defensive and after 6 rounds, Floyd will see himself down on points and start getting desperate. Once desperation kicks in, the fight will get very interesting. Floyd will probably try to get more offensive but that is something which Pacquiao may take advantage of...

The Mayweathers will always say that about Floyd; just like Roach promises Pac was going to KO Rios, Bradley, Algeiri. He'll be promising a KO against Floyd soon enough ...

I don't think this is an emotional pick for Hopkins. His logic on how this fight will go agrees with the majority. But, he said there is a chance he could be wrong.

I see it going Floyd's way. If Bradley can have as much success as he did in both fights of landing clean and making Pacquiao miss (even though he really lost both times) Floyd should also be successful. Bradley for all his good points can get wild and sloppy and lose confidence at times. Joel Diaz couldn't even get through to him, once Manny turned the tide. Floyd doesn't lose his mental composure and listens to his corner. Particularly, when his father is in the corner. Floyd is stronger on the inside and has the reach advantage on the outside. If he uses the clinch in close and his legs and that jab from the outside, he is going to be a nightmare to deal with for Manny.

Of the two, I think it's Manny who needs to control distance and keep Floyd in that mid range area where he excels. And that's going to require a lot of movement and stamina. And Manny's stamina is not what it was 5 years ago. He takes the greater part of several rounds off these days. Can't do that with Mayweather. I assume they will try to improve that for this fight.

I think what will be telling is when/if Floyd gets caught with an awkward punch he doesn't see coming from Manny. It may just turn the fight around. But, if Floyd controls the fight and he can do what he wants in there, he will cruise to a decision.

I've felt this way for the longest time (without reading the Hopkins quote all the way) felt Floyd struggles then takes over

I am curious to see if Pacquiao can adjust to Floyd and be dangerous late

I've let the fight get closer in my mind as the two have gotten older
