Sounds slightly encouraging, I'll have a go tonight then.

So even if I get the channel and I need to PPV there should be no problem?

Me and the words "No problem" don't usually co exist so there be some balls up somewhere.

i always thought you would need an active sky card to order ppv..like a working subscription card...

    anyway...punk...left of topic...
i recently got sky hd...they gave me an amstrad box...i wasnt happy with the old epg, and stuck on high contrast {problem with all amstrads} and the inability to get bbc hd and itv hd due to old epg....so i rang sky and got the box changed to a pace model...now i got all the above sorted and picture quality seems much better too...
my question to you punk...is pace the best model sky hd box ?..did i choose the right one?

Not totally correct. They transmit everything to every box except for ppv. the card tell the box what channels to show though. if someone in your area orders ppv and you've got a chipped box than you can watch it but if no one in your area does than virgin wont send the signal down your area and you can't watch it.

PremPlus showed 270 matches on PPV during the channels six season existence, I'm pretty sure they must have shown Liverpool a few times....

Well I rung Primetime today and asked if I needed any sort of Sky subscription to get the PPV channels and the geezer said "No mate, as long as you've got a phone line to your box we can transmit it to you" Out with the old phone extension lead tonight and the debit card and all "should" be sorted for the Seaside Sluggers weekend punch ups!!

Summat'll go wrong, it's bound to...............................

    That's only partially correct.

Traditional PPV stuff is piped down all the time (including Sky Box office AFAIK), for instance I hear you can watch the PPV porn on a chipped box.

What isn't transmitted all the time is the 'on demand' content, this is different to PPV and you need someone in your area to have asked for it.
