I wouldn't be surprised if it did 10 million. Canelo vs GGG for example is for the boxing fan. The casuals will buy for Canelo, but not in droves. A circus act is geared more to those that know zero about the sport. They just want to be entertained and boxing is really secondary in that scenario. Its those people that buy in droves. Two mundane loudmouths full of hype, that type of shiat sells way more than a fight between two p4p fighters who will do their talking in the ring. Its just the world we live in. **** this and that. All **** **** **** **** ****!!!!!!! "Ooooohhhhh, I gots to buy that!"
I like what McGregor said after fight. He said something akin to it be a "cleaner" fight.. to me MMA is a jack of all trades type deal, boxers have focused on the one skill and are really good at.
McGregor just got his ass whipped. He probably has about one more ass whippin in boxing, depending on who he fights before he's put out to pasture.
Yes, and Lennox would get choked out in one minute vs Fedor in the octagon Fedor overrated? Someone who says this has no clue about MMA history. He is still the leading candidate for being the greatest HW MMA fighter ever, for many even p4p the greatest. Yes, Butterbean won fights, but he lost to a 70 kg (154 lb) Genki Sudo in MMA This content is protected Do you think a 70 kg (154 lb) boxer would beat (via KO or TKO) a 300+x lb Kickboxer or MMA fighter in Boxing rules? Im really not sure if Canelo or Golovkin would beat Choi Hong-man; 218 cm; 163 kg (7ft 2 inches, 360 lb). This content is protected That Thai Kaoklai weights 80 kg (176 lb) and is 180 cm (5 feet 11inches), but as you see he simply can t do any damage here. Yes, Boxing and MMA is both not street fighting, but i would say in a MMA match a little guy has better chance to beat a big guy as in Boxing.
It would have been more but neither man packed the correct ring attire for the fight. They both lost luggage or left it back at the hotel room. I understand that they had to use lost property. More info here: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...-million-ppv-buys.592660/page-3#post-18738812
"Not only that but he paid the (Afro-American) ref off to save him in the 9th and 10th rounds. Those 15 shots to the head Connor took were nothing, he was just getting his second wind!!!"
Real fights usually 10 people swarm in and break you up before you have a chance to get going. And, it's not so easy to gouge eyes out as people would have you believe.
Of course size plays a part that's why you have weight divisions in boxing, kickboxing etc not like the ******ed old days of UFC. I realize people aren't superman and maybe some MMA fans should realize that, too. I've watched Pride, M1, K1, Rickson Gracie's old stuff, BJJ tourneys and none of that holds a candle to a big boxing event. Overeem ranks higher than Fedor. Dan Henderson is better than Fedor. Daniel Cormier is better than Fedor. Who cares if Butterbean lost fights... he also won in MMA. MMA fighters won't win in boxing matches vs anyone who isn't 1 star level. Boxers have more of a chance in MMA than MMA fighters do in boxing overall. Here's the thing which is flawed with the MMA logic - Anyone can lose a fight by illegal or legal means and depending on intangibles like size, strength, skill, etc.... it's a flawed concept as a sport. Boxers have a chance because it's a ''martial art''. They have a ''puncher's chance''. Of course it depends on the level of fighters. I just don't think it's as straight and narrow or black and white like some people think. The Couture fight was a joke as Toney was shot to pieces and was overall ignorant to the situation he was put in. Old, shot and out of it. The reality is UFC's Dana White won't put his hand in his pocket and pay his fighters improved paydays which would give incentive to the good boxers to transition over if the money was improved. I think the UFC production quality is whack and the people who work for UFC are all liars like Dana in how he promotes fighters. Two examples - Cody Garbrandt - he has no proper amateur boxing record yet they said he does. Conor McGregor - he only trained in Crumlin boxing club. He never did any legitimate amateur boxing fights. That's where the disrespect comes in from MMA guys. It's mostly wrestling fans or casual fans who like MMA who attack boxing on the whole. I've watched MMA since UFC 1 and Pride and i just prefer Boxing. I don't need to go on ****ing mma forums and say ''MMA Sucks'' ''Boxing is better''.
bring on malignaggi.....then he can get another 100mil vs cotto or canelo if he ever fights again after he goes to sleep
