After Calzaghe, Hopkins, and RJJ, who is the best light heavyweight?

    Assuming Calzaghe beats RJJ and then retires, and Hopkins retires, the lhw division will be totally open for the taking. Who is the best?

    I think I agree. Diaconu and Dawson are poised to square off in Romania in October.

    I think Dawson, but it's wide open. I would like to see Zolt Erdei improving his resume soon, and Diaconu vs Dawson will tell alot.

    RJJ is barely a top 10 Light Heavyweight. He has beat NOBODY at Light Heavyweight after his 2 brutal KO losses.

    Agreed. The point was that three of the top ten lhw's (Calzaghe #1, Hopkins #2, RJJ #6) will retire and the division will be left wide open.

    Dane - has Erdei really done enough for you to root for him? I must admit I almost didn't put him on the list because he consistently fights below average American clubfighters, although I did hear that there was a proposed match with Johnson (is that right?). I would guess any of the other four would be favored above him in a match.

    Lhw is one old-asse division. The best prospect (diacanou) is 31. Although that cloud guy cound be the future of the divison.

    Dawson beats them all right now, imo.

    Dawson-Jones wouldn't even be competetive at this stage.
