reading these comments on Wilder, Ortiz, Joshua, etc. makes me realize how awful the heavyweight division is.

to think that probably the most talented of all these heavyweights is a dinosaur old Luis Ortiz is just awful.

I'd venture to say that Ortiz has more talent than our current heavyweight champs in Joshua, Parker & Wilder. His only problem is that's just freaking old. Win, draw or lose, Ortiz would give all 3 guys a rough time.

then you got Wilder, who's probably the most fundamentally unsound champion I ever seen. All He's got a big right hand, so what?...so do a lot of heavyweights

it might be awful but what makes it bad is there not fighting eachother, to joshuas credit he got it on with wlad, but still not under the best circumstances. there not really fighting eachother which makes it bad. i cant stand how they hardly ever mandate the right fights. why are the mandating joshua vs puluev? . seriously thats stupid. mandate real fights like wilder vs joshua or wilder vs ortiz. or any combination .. that just makes to much sense.

ortiz vs joshua and so in . and get parker in the mix as well. them 4 guys should be fighting it out. eventually we will get it tho , but it just takes to long the build up and all that. let it marinate i hate when they say that garbage.

This is how it's going to be, Wilder fans have had so little to actually boast about that if Wilder in his 39th fight beats a 38 year old who's best win is probably Jennings and is looking just a little bit better than average recently (Malik Scott and Dave Allen fights) they are going to soil themselves and claim they were correct all along, we were all wrong for doubting Wilder and probably throw him in the top 5 P4P list.

    It's embarrassing, stop it.

If Wilder beats Ortiz I'll give him some credit but it's a START, that's all, finally a step in the right direction.

If he fights Ortiz and if he wins I will give him credit for beating a B level contender - that's it, because thats all Ortiz is.

its taken him 39 fights to fight someone on Ortiz's level - a contender! Joke of a career.

The last time I saw Ortiz he looked awful..................he is old, inactive, slow, but at one time a pretty good fighter with a hard punch and good chin. Perhaps Wilder's people have finally decided that Ortiz is over the hill enough to beat, or perhaps they have paid Ortiz....................Wilder has been ducking Ortiz for along time now. It's time for the boxing org.'s to enforce their rules and make their fighters fight their legit #1 fighter, then boxing fans would be happen, leave the winos in the alley.....................

Wow, how Ortiz has fallen off the radar!

If Wilder beats Ortiz fair and square I for one will consider it a massive victory, up there with Wlad Joshua for sure. Ortiz is still a top class fighter, and the poor showing against Scott can in large part be put down to Scott himself, who refused point blank to engage Ortiz after getting knocked down a half dozen times. The Allen fight was a nothing, but showed that Ortiz still possessed huge power. He may be getting on, but I'd favour him against almost anyone in the division and there's no one who'll have an easy night with him, ever.

So while Wilder ridiculing is my second favourite pasttime, if he legitimately beats Ortiz I'll have to bite the bullet and actually give him praise for once (well, I also praised him for the Stiverne victory, but that was a long time ago now).

However, I still have massive doubts the fight actually goes through. Just too much nonsense with the Wilder team for me to believe this ever materialises. So the praise will very much be held in reserve until after the win, if win he gets.

The WBC made Stiverne mandatory for Wilder, but the networks rejected that fight. Doubt if Wilder will fight Ortiz, even an old Ortiz, over the hill, a yesterday fighter, avoid him until he uses a wheelchair, but what if Ortiz gets out of his wheelchair, escapes the nursing home and lands a punch on Wilder?! Could be the end for Wilder, but the referee, judges and boxing commission will be there to rescue Wilder...............

I hate wilder but if he can beat Ortiz of course he will get credit.

The amount of credit comes from how he looks. If he boxes Ortiz and looks decent he'll get lots of credit from me.

If he does them stupid windmill things and looks at vulnerable as ever but gets a KO, he won't get much credit from me.

We all know he was ridiculous power and that wouldn't be anything that surprised me, whereas him actually looking good boxing would
