after devestating losses why do fighters rush into tough fights?

    i've never understood this, fighters get beaten, comeback against a c level or tomato can and then go for the big names again, why dont they take their time and build up their confidence and refresh themselves?

    Because they have been brought up and breed to believe they are the best. When they lose, they REALLY believe the excuses that us fans laugh at on message boards, and they really believe that they are capable and ready to avenge the loss and/or prove the loss was a fluke. Mosley vs Forrest/Winky is a perfect example of this

    I think for a couple reasons

    Ego- You lose, get a easy win and have the desire to tet yourself again

    Money- How many tuneups can u fight and the public will still pay for it (Obviously the rules don't apply to Chavez Jr.)

    Public demand- Don't wanna look like a punk

    I have to agree with what you wrote tho

    Boxers have a short shelf life. Too short to waste on meaningless fights.

    Depends on what type of loss. When it's a horrible knockout loss, I think that it's simply bad management.
