Part of the enthusiasm with Pacquiao is geniunely inspired based on his brilliant showings - which is a commendable thing, but here in this context it's bothersome. I agree with WWM.

I predicted it would be close the day of the fight when Manny came in heavier than DLH.

I predicted that Pac would be too fast for Oscar and outwork him all night long to a decision - but I certainly didn't see a stoppage coming. Fine time for vbookie to disappear because I had just placed all of my vcash on Pac.

I thought he could do it. Not in the fashion that he pulled it off, of course. But I thought he was well capable of winning.

People weren't wrong to believe that even a 30% Oscar DLH would annihilate Pacquiao. Yes, he came in surprisingly good shape with a great gameplan and a world-class A game, and very strong at welterweight - but please stop overcrediting the guy. He beat a less than 15% Oscar DLH.

The shock was how little Oscar brought to the table, moreso than how much Manny brought.

And you can only blame so much of Oscar's inefficacy on what Pac was doing in the ring. Oscar threw some token combos in the first few rounds but anyone with a brain (and one devoid of bias, at that) could plainly see that there was no fire whatsoever, from bell to bell.

the thing is.... you can be a fan of a fighter and still think he loses a fight. Ive never understood why people think that being a fan of a fighter means you shut off the logical part of your brain.

Im a Pac fan, but if he fights floyd.... there is little doubt IMO that he loses. Same as i thought against Hoya.

Im not ashamed one bit for picking hoya to win the fight, and im not ashamed of saying that i think floyd would win in fashion eather.

Intentional Butt and Kirk have very good points. The impossible happened that Saturday night. The combination of Hoya's bad health (****, even Roach said when he saw Oscar walk into the ring and saw the IV marks in his arms he knew Pac would win) and Pac's great boxing reversed the impossible. So yes, the right choice would have been Hoya knowing what we knew then. In fact the only person who i can say deserves credit is Jack Prescott who did not call it for Pac because Pac was the better boxer but called it for Pac because Hoya was gonna come in severely dehydrated.

So Mr. Jack Prescott. I tip my hat to you. :good

    ah :good

If they rematched, i would go with Pac this time just because he carries the weight better then i thought he would, and its obvious Hoya has little left for someone on pacs level.

Hatton and Floyd i will be picking over Pac....

Hatton just SLIGHTLY, though i could see pac winning that one.

Mayweather i think would win at least 7 rounds and look good doing so.

Id be rooting for pac immensly vs mayweather though and hope he proves me wrong... hatton and pac i like about the same so not sure whod i go with on that one but would love to see it.

    anyways..
    :good
