The fight was in AC, not by far close to Wards hometown and the fight was postponed and then scheduled for the week before Christmas. It's not unreasonable to expect falloff from viewers due to that. So you're not making a fair and level comparison with Bute who fights strictly at home in Quebec/Romania. Bute fought on a state sponsored national tv station that everyone gets. Ward/Froch was on a premium cable pay channel. Again, not a level comparison.

Fine, I modify my statement. Bute is only a draw in Quebec and Romania. Outside of those, he's an unknown and isn't drawing anything.

He was not invited. Do you know what that means? When the super 6 needed an alternate, they didn't invite him, they invited Allan Green. Because they didn't want a new comer to win. The promoters their word to say on the substitutes and no way Ward's promoter would have accepted Bute.

The only real source about Bute and the tournament is Hershman, Showtime's boss at the time, who said Bute was not invited. Ward was the Darkhorse, not a favorite.

Two champions came in with their belts. There were FOUR fighters who were UNDEFEATED. Only 1 came out of them w/o a loss.

He didn't beat the best in the division, unless you mean Kessler by that. He didn't beat Bute and Andrade, who were better fighters at the time the tournament started (and Bute still is, now) than most of the other fighters in the tournament.:hi:

The "friends" or "brothers" excuse for not fighting another professional fighter is the biggest piece of bull**** I've ever heard of in boxing.

It's ducking. They're ducking each other because they're both afraid of losing their cred.

The risk is too great given how poor the reward is - neither Ward nor Dirrell are big names, neither can draw flies to ****, neither are popular and they cannot make any money out of fighting each other at this stage.

So it doesn't make business sense. Every other excuse is just that. Funny.
