He's a 33 years old prospect. You can't be the future of a sport if you're 33 and you biggest victory till date is Daniel "freaking" Geale.

At age 33 fighter who where considered future of the sport where on their way to the hall of fame.

None of the fighters being mentioned are skilled enough to be considered the future of the sport.

Froch is an outlier and not the norm.

If I'm not mistaken no one ever mistook Froch as the future of boxing, though he has benefited from Wards absence.

Golovkin needs to raise his profile because he's not smelling the Cotto sweepstake before Canelo and much deserving fighters.

You guys are ****in stupid. Canelo is gonna take over and its not gonna be close. I thought this was clear to everybody already. He will be the De La Hoya of this generation. The kid is not afraid of a challenge and will take on everybody.

Hopefully GGG and Thurman can get some shine though.

Canelo is not skilled enough to carry the sport. The dude can't win a convincing fight if his life depended on it. How many controversial gift decisions has Canelo been a recipient of so far in his young career.

It will only get worse for Canelo because once he can't make 153 where he out-ways most of his opponents and begin to fight guys his own size, that is when people will realize how limited Canelo really is.

If Ward comes out of retirement, he's gonna be P4P #1. But he won't be both the best fighter in the world, and the fighter that sells the most. Nobody has the potential to be as dominating in both categories as Mayweather as of now.

what he's saying is, guys like marquez, stevenson, floyd, shane, hopkins etc are rare...they are not the typical fighter. most fighter start to slip around their late 20's early 30's which is the age golovkin is now.

Read the question by OP. He's basically asking who will be the future of the sport after Mayweather and Pac retires. The men you're mentioning have never been considered the future of the sports, though they grab big victories every now and then.

Looking at the history, the next big thing in boxing is either going to be a popular heavyweight champ, the pound for pound champ, or a talented Olympian who markets himself well.
