Dawson was clearly a much lesser fight at 168 than he is at 175. We might have seen a better fight if it had been at 170 like Dawson wanted.

Catchweights are not a bad thing, they can be extremely good actually if we get a great bout.

However, no organisation should sanction said bout, any world title or relevant title.

Dawson wanted Ward's belt. He was the one that came calling. Even though he lost he retains his WBC Light Heavyweight strap.

    It depends on the situation
    They can be
    Very good
    Good
    Bad

it's fine so long as the other end does not suffer too much consequences. in this case, dawson gave away some advantages but not that huge so it's legit. you look at how dela hoya was drained and cotto and some other guys, that should be illegal.

Catchweights are cool sometimes but not when someone continues to use them and abuse them i.e Pac.

What did he do at 175 that made him a "much better fighter" at that weight?

He's looked like **** for years now. He beat Hopkins, but he didn't even beat up a 47 year old, he merely outpointed him.

Yes, but to make a catchweight fight happen, you've got to have some leverage. Dawson had none. He has no fan base. Plus, he's the one that called Ward out.

He managed to make Ward look like a power puncher.

depends on the situation. I prefer the bigger fighter to offer it, because he can't come down in weight all the way and it's unfair for him to ask the smaller fighter to come all the way up.
Now a smaller fighter CAN go up in weight healthy and if they ask for a catchweight, a lot of times it looks like they're trying to drain them

Depends on intention. If the intention is for a fair fight, then great. If the intention is to drain and hurt the opponent, then thats bull****
