Wasn't discouraged ? He sure as hell was discouraged he didn't get his a$$ of his stool when the bell rang until 15 seconds after while Nate was waiting center ring to bring the pain the whole time...

Granted the ref was allowing it to happen and not forcing Diaz up but if Diaz was not discouraged he would have more enthusiasm,, sprang up at the sound of the bell and waited center ring for Campbell don't you think ?

Save your bandwagon with JMM, he's more legit than Juan D.

So Joel Cassamyor beats Nate Campbell.

    Nate Campbell beats Juan Diaz.

And Juan Diaz is the best lightweight.

    Gotcha.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt any more is it?

Yeah thats correct ... Casa is on his way out and just looking for a big payday.

Campbell the same with both being in their late 30's and not getting any better.

Diaz is young ... and has a better upside than anyone in the division.

Just because he lost doesn't mean that he isn't the best lightweight in the world.

Ali lost to Norton but everyone knew he was still the best HW in the world.

I'm not comparing the two I was just using that as an example...

We'll see once Diaz' next fight is scheduled and we'll see how long Campbell holds on to those belts ... lets see if Casa gets his big fight against Pac ... and we'll see if Pac gets this belt from David Diaz.

I completely agree with this and think the same way about other fighters as well. Pacquiao as well, not a great boxer, but exciting.
Casa on the other is the opposite, great boxer but at times not so exciting.

    . . . I don't know about that.

It's hard to claim that a fighter is still the best in a division immediately after losing a fight especially a title fight.

Maybe we can say . . . he is still the most impressive, or the most dominant figure or the most awesome in terms of performance. But the best? It doesn't fit.

he just lost duede so of cours ehe is not the best lightweight anymore AT THIS MOMENT. He can come back however because a loss doesn't mean sh*t and still be on top of the division.
As for now, he lost. Maybe he is the best but HE HAS TO PROVE IT FIRST

... you can say juan diaz is one of the BEST once he gets back to grand papa nate.
i believe he will win next time they fight! Now, for whatever reason JUAN loses again to old grandpapa nate..

JUAN Diaz will be exposed. He is not as great as people percieved. Including this writer. He has no right to be called BEST or great if he losses to grandpapa nate twice!

He lost a close decision to campbell and he's fought great competition as of late.

He's the best lightweight in the world ... Casa is on his way out and is only looking for a big payday.

As far as the top lightweight to fight and has the most clout you have to give it to Juan Diaz.

You guys act as if he got knocked out or something ... he wasn't exposed ... he got cut and it hurt him more than Campbell did. There was no blueprint set ... he's going to overwhelm the next guy he faces.

I don't think he needs to rematch Campbell ... he's in a good position ... let Campbell lose that belt and then begin his journey all over again. He's going to be the favorite in any fight he fights in.

If anything Diaz needed that loss to humble him and make him work on his fight game alot more --
He also needs to make adjustments during a fight and will work on that during a fight.

If anyone wants to fight Cambell its only for those belts (which might soon get vacated) and won't get paid much ... but if a fighter wants a decent payday and wants to be in a good fight against a credible fighter then they will look toward Juan Diaz.

During the time that Casa was inactive ... Diaz was racking up titles so that gives him a one up on him ... David Diaz doesn't really own that belt he has because it rightfully belongs to Casa and add to that he's only had one title defense and two fights in year.
