But seriously seems like a question for @roughdiamond he knows a fair bit…. my guess is Santos Laciar but I’m not really an arm chair historian I just recognise the flags on boxrec, I didn’t know he was an Argentine for sure till I double checked.

Credit to Victor Galindez who should have a win over Bob Foster from what I saw… chased him out of the ring… almost!

@Seamus this is the right thread to talk about Castro being robbed against RJJ and beating the great Roberto Duran… you have my support, overlooked and an enlightened man’s P4Per.

I think you're referring to Jorge Ahumada?

    Galindez never fought Foster.
    My pick is Pascual Perez.

So many good ones. Galindez, Ahumada, the Peralta brothers, Perez, Horacio Accavallo, Bonavena, Carlos Gimenez, Coggi, Eduardo Lausse, Vicente Derado, Laciar. Damn good fighters and probably forgetting half of them.

I think you can make a case that Galindez should be rated higher than Locche.

In Argentina they rank Pascual Pérez as the second best... for whatever reason... I disagree. Justo Suarez is very highly ranked too.

I never see Ramon La Cruz being talked here, he should be talked...

That said, this is my top 10 (don´t give importance to the order after the first 4):

    1- Carlos Monzón
    2-Nicolino Locche
    3-Victor Galindez
    4-Eduardo Lausse
    Horacio Acavallo/Pascual Pérez
    Santos Laciar
    Luis Federico Thompson
    Ubaldo Sacco
    Marcos Maidana
    Juan Martin Coggi/Sergio Victor Palma/Gustavo Ballas/Sergio Martinez/Justo Suarez/Jorge Fernandez/Ramon La Cruz

Julio Cesar Vazquez captured the WBA light middle belt and made ten successful title defenses. Among his victims were Carl Daniels, Winky Wright (who he KD'd 3 times), and Tony Marshall. He was then absolutely robbed in a set-up fight to promote unlikeable, truculent American Pernell Whitaker into a marketable commodity, which remains a stain on the history of the sport.

This new guy Pumita Martinez is really good. Kinda raw to the extreme for me, but still has a lot of time to improve...

Fernando Martinez is a relentless animal. Been really impressed with him from the fights I've seen from him. Sort of reminds me of Jeff Fenech at times. Martinez against Jessie Rodriguez would be an amazing fight to see.

Yes, anybody here that don´t know him, should watch his fights... but I think he is relentless to the point that he becomes reckless... I think Rodriguez would time him, pick him apart, and stop him...
