after pacman vs mosley does anyone now think that the display manny put in was sub standard of what we have come to expect from pacman, ok you cant have that all guns blazing hi octane kind of performance every minute of every round...

but then he did stick shane on his arse, and shane looked dazed on the deck and sugar has a solid chin imo.

but the way shane was on the back foot for the main part of the fight for me shows that a fighter who can get manny out of his comfort zone then he can be got at if you have the tools to do so....

manny looked frustrated at times imo and even after he knocked mosley down he never really looked like putting him away, kind of looked like he was easing off slightly....

ok mayweather vs shane was a good start for mosley 1st 2 rounds mosley done ok and landed well on mayweather flush on the chin, but after the 3rd floyd schooled sugar good style....allthough not floyds greatest performance he still took shane to the school house......

now after seeing floyd vs shane and manny vs shane and how the fight panned out for the two big boys how do you think the fight with floyd and manny would pan out having seen what we have seen???

    cheers :bbb

I can't help but think manny didn't want to k.o shane. I know that probably sounds stupid but I think he let the friendlyness of it all get to him, like it was harder to get motivated. He said he liked all the friendlyness of the build up but in my opinion you need that big of dislike.

It was an awful performance. When he threw 2s and 3s he would have success. 1 shot at a time was getting no where as Mosley was scared for his life.

My mate said that and you had to wonder in the Margarito fight too.

He hit Margarito hundreds of times and gave him extreme facial damage. If that's him holding back then I'd hate to see how he'd treat Floyd.

You can't beat Pac with a low punch output.

I would also say, bar getting badly shook, Shane was Floyds best performance. It'd require that mindset to beat Pac, and IMO, if he's that forward thinking against Pac he'll get pummelled. Pac will win the first few rounds as Floyd is historically a slow starter, I imagine he can then take 3 of the next 8. If Floyd were to take the next 8 it'd be an amazing performance.

So Flea you favour Pacquiao if the fight happens?

I don't think thats the case. As long as Mayweather is able to regularly hit Pacquiao with timed counters Pacquiao will be in trouble. He was puzzled at time by average footwork and movement but was against an opponent no longer able to pull the trigger and take advantage of it.

Mayweather rarely loses the first round. watch back allot of his fights. he wins that 1st round and then sits back until 4-5. That way when he does step it up he is only 3 rounds down instead of 4.

I kinda hate this forum, In the general everyones writing pac off now, even saying he'll get "exposed" soon. It's crazy how much peoples opinions change due to one unimpressive fight.

Exactly, especially when comparing him to Floyd, who has also had some sub-par performances.

i really, really hope Pacquiao-Mayweather is signed soon because I'm convinced Pacquiao will win a UD regardless of how disappointing he was the other night. I'm guessing the odds on that will have gone right up on that so if it was signed soon I'd be right down to the bookies!

It's amazing anyone could ever say manny will be exposed. he's fighting out of his natural weightclass, against bigger men, and dominating them.

Anyway, Mosely refusing to engage proves nothing. Manny effectively shut Shane down, even more effectively than Floyd did. He hurt him badly in the third and after that Shane had no interest in fighting.

Floyd will have his moments, but during that slow start manny will land fast and hard. Can he do enough damage to make Floyd wary? I think so. If a slow, old Shane can hurt Floyd that way, so can manny.
