Corner thowing in the towel is how I picture a stoppage. I don't think Hatton is going to make this easy so there's a good chance this goes the distance.
I agree there's a good chance it goes the distance, but I think Ricky will be fighting so hard that he'll refuse to back off, even as he getting countered to death. And Floyd is just insecure enough that he'll actually try to entertain this time, against an opponent he believes he can hurt. Having said that, I think it'll be a pretty interesting fight for seven or eight rounds, with Ricky taking his share based on aggression. But eventually, Floyd's clean punching and ability to keep Hatton moving will cause Ricky to fatigue. Hatton hasn't looked in quite as great shape in either (Collazo, Urango) of his two most recent long fights, and he had every reason to be motivated for both. I hope his ballooning between fights doesn't shorten his career, but I fear it may.
ricky is a very good fighter but his body stature is not suited for Floyd or most top welters period his arm length is just far to short for Floyd to be backed up by any of his punches that he throws coming in....he will have to lunge and be off balance. Like someone said earlier Collazo hit Hatto with ease as he came in...no we can not judge the whole fight on that fight but some instances we can and Ricky being an easy target while comming in is going to be his fate....he is going to eat straights and jabs all nite...floyd will counter him if he tries jabbing with his short 64in arms as Floyd has a 71in reach....plus include the speed, accuracy, talent and just sheer nack for boxing...Floyd is going to take this fight to Hatton and i think Hatton will not fight at 147 again after this not because he isnt good enough but because guys like Cotto, Paul,Cintron,MArgo all are long fighters and will beat Hatton to the punch every time and make it extrememly hard for him to just bob and weave his way in,,easpecially with power punches like Cotto and Margo and Cintron.....he just isnt physically fit for Welter.
Ok I can give you that, but explain why Hatton wouldn't take a rematch with Callazo. Callazo was pretty much begging for a rematch and was willing to fight him in the UK. Explain why Hatton went back down in weight. 147 is too much and he'll be crushed by PBF.
Hatton looked like **** against Collazo. He got a gift decision, his legendary stamina was no where to be seen and he was tired in the late rounds. Collazo isnt that great of a fighter either, Shane had an easy UD with him, boxed his ears off. Unless he does something stupid, PBF should win this one.
You guys are thick to use the Collazo fight as a yardstick for this fight. The Hatton that steps in the ring next week will be very different
In that case I will consider that Pretty Void has just saved my sorry ass since there will be no need for any kind of celebratory disturbance, police car chase, and getting my ass kicked by a bunch of brothers after drunkenly challenging them to a fight to death just to show them how it is done! But anyways: :| :| :| :| Better start practicing.
And you need to learn to look at things like defense, lack of a jab, short arms and not having great success when fighting people that don't stand in front of you.:hi:
