It can also be said that after watching Foreman clobber Frazier with ease= no way Ali can beat Foreman....
Ali shouldn't have beat Foreman. Foreman beat himself. So if we are counting on Pretty Void beating himself the way George did with Ali, you better not hold your breath because it ain't happening. Now, if it does happen that Ricky beats that idiot, I'll be the first one here singing Hatton's praises like there is no tomorrow. If I ever regain conciousness from the drinking binge I'm going to engage in from celebrating, that is...:hey
I think so...But had Hatton not gotten in trouble in the 12th...he would have clearly won...but he DID nearly get laid out...good chin??
i think the original poster is not comparing floyd to collazo but saying that, if rick couldnt destroy collazo, how will he even beat floyd???? i want Rick to win too but i am worried about the same problem.
Add me to the list of guys who are hoping for a miracle to happen - for Hatton to figure out a way to beat PBF.
I just rewatched the fight as well. I had it 6 rounds a piece with Hatton getting the 10-8 in the first becasue of the flash knockdown. A good argument can be made that the last round should have gone 10-8 Collazo because Ricky was out of it and rocked several times, badly. 114-113 Hatton is fine, 113-113 is fine as well. One thing worth noting, Ricky's holding of Collazo's right hand was very bad, and the ref (who seemed a bit inexperienced) NEVER warned him about it. Between that and the holding in general, some refs could have easily taken a point away. If i had to judge the fight "overall" it felt as if Collazo won the fight. He had his man hurt and made him look bad, whereas Ricky never hurt Collazo at all, just caught him off balance a few times. My scorecard (with notes): 1-Hatton (10-8 because of the flash KD), 2-Collazo (real close Collazo had cleaner pucnes), 3-Hatton, 4-Hatton, 5- Collazo (bigtime), 6-Collazo, 7-Hatton (pretty close round though...), 8-Hatton (bigtime), 9-Collazo (easily) 10- Collazo (bigtime) 11- Hatton (lamest round of the fight, Hatton won just by pressing the action), 12- Collazo (HUGE...could have been judged 10-8 Collazo)
Predicting fights is not always that easy either. Its not just a matter of looking at a fighters past fights and extrapolating a prediction of how that fighter will fight the next time he/she (in the case of De la Hoya) is in the ring. Fighters develop skills in betwwen fights and bring them to the next one, and they display skills that havent been called out of them before. Ricky is such a Hungry and rapidly improving guy, and he alwasy rises to the occasion, we just cant tell how much he is going to improve, what he is going to schow us on dec 8. The past suggests that he is not in Mayweathers league, but the past suggested that in the Tszyu fight as well. Hatton knows how to stand up. So thats why this fight isnt a sure thing. Having said that, Floyd TKO 10.
twice on paper once in the eyes of the public, but again the point is collazo is not in Shane, or Oscar's level.
Collazo is so differently from Mayweather stylistically that I'm not sure there's any useful information to derive on whether he has a shot at Mayweather. That said, if Hatton fights like he has since the Tszyu fight, he'll get potshotted to death and lose.
what happened in that fight has no bearing on what will happen dec 8th.the result will be the same tho.
