Im not so sure about that. Yes we have to be cautious making comparisons for styalistically different fighters. But we can still make some. The easiness with which Hatton was able to be hit all through out that fight by a boxing style bodes very bad for Ricky coming into a fight where he is fighting the most accurate, strategic and gifted boxer in the world.
I too thought Collazo won but he screwed himself by being so lacadaisical at the beginning of the fight, and complaining to the ref instead of fighting.
To be fair Hatton performed better in his match against Kostya Tszyu. Same basic style but much more action. To beat Mayweather he will have to do roughly the same thing, but be much more effective. Hatton already had an opportunity against Collazo to take his game to another level. He failed to do it then and I think he will fail to do it against Mayweather.
