Man, this is a tough one to call. Dirrell by stoppage is the only outcome easily excluded.

When B class Miranda broke his jaw and nearly beat him he didnt need the KO then?

And how doesnt Dirrell got heart? Watch the 10,11, and 12 rounds of the Froch fight and get back to me.

If Abraham gets wild, he has no chance. Dirrell isnt stationary gunshy Taylor or the C level middleweights that Abraham fought, he is the most talented and gifted fighter in the tournament, if Abraham starts winging away recklessly he's going to get countered and he's not fast enough nor have the reach enough to reach Dirrel.
:-( This is when im confident of my picks. When people know their guy is going to get outboxed but think that he can just magically come up with a KO. Rarely does this happen. If a fighter KO's another its usually because he broke him down, not some one punch magic.

I believe that Direll will outbox Abraham but not impressively, it will be rather close, controversial and not as exiting as we expect.

I totally disagree about the Taylor fight. I havent really seen Taylor giving problems to Abraham at any point in that fight. Abraham lost a few rounds but was in command of the fight and dominated Taylor. Direll however is a better version of Taylor.

I appreciate the sweet science and like to see smart fighters with alot of ability fighting with alot of skill. I don't like to see sluggers just throwing random punches hoping to see someone get knocked out and also I don't like to see fighters just trying to survive close rounds and hope that the judges give it to them.

As a fan of the sweet science and chess matches, I wouldn't consider a win as you described it too impressive. Especially considering the fight is in Dirrell's home town.

He did give Froch a good fight, in fact many feel (myself included) Dirrell won that fight. Though I do agree with you and everyone thats mentioned it, mentality and experience are against him. But what if ... the sleeper awakens? This could be that fight!? Fighters get better with each fight. He stated that he learned alot from the Froch fight. Needed experience?

I believe Dirrell will take this fight. With most things, a catalyst is needed to make something happen or started. This is a FIRST for Dirrell. He's facing his toughest fight of his career. He's never faced ANYONE quite like Abraham. This could be the fight that makes him dig deeper than he's ever dug before. This could be the one that lights that proverbial fire on his ass. I may be giving him to much credit, but he certainly has the tools to make it happen and in watching the Taylor fight he has a blueprint.

If Dirrell can win 3 - 4 rounds clearly, and make 3 - 4 rounds close, he should get the decision at home................if he avoids getting knocked out or knocked down.

Dirrell showed brilliant defensive speed and ability against Froch so I believe he can last the distance against Abraham without getting decked.

Abraham will probably give away 3 of the first 4 rounds but can Dirrell make the rounds close once Abraham starts to explode with combinations?

I believe Dirrell can so I think he'll win by decision

Everyone with a brain knows Dirrell beat Froch. You really dont know boxing if you can find 7 rounds to give to Froch.

Based on clean punching, effective aggression and defense, you can give him 4 rounds at best. Even then you have to count his rabbit punches and body slam lol.

You can easily find 6 rounds to give to Froch. Direll gave away many rounds due to inactivity.

Direll fans should be worried about this in the Abraham fight. If he approaches this fight with fear, similar scenario may be played, with him concentrating only on defence to not get hurt.

    Post them.

Inactivity only matters if the other fighter is landing punches. There is no judging criteria for inactivity. If Dirrell threw 5 punches and landed 4, and Froch threw 10 and landed 3, Dirrell wins the round simple as that.

Dirrell wasnt fighting afraid of Froch. Dont know where this comes from. He was fighting how a boxer fights, waiting for his opponent to make mistakes which Dirrell often punished Froch for. What shook Dirrell was getting body slammed in round 5. Before that he was outboxing Froch comfortably, which is what caused Froch to get pissed. Still he gave Froch a shallacking the last 3 rounds, hurting him atleast once.

At some point Dirrell will try to clinch, and because he absolutely sucks at clinching, AA will catch him right on the chin with a nice straight right and then explode with hooks and looping right hands: fight over.

You bring up a good point. Can Dirrell take a good punch? Froch did catch Dirrell a few times, only buckled Dirrell once that I can recall. Dirrell seems to have a good chin.

Dirrell was never buckled by Froch. Froch caught Dirrell trying to get away along the ropes and Dirrell was off balance, and he immediately pushed Froch away.

Dirrells style means he has to have a good chin to reach the levels he's reached.

If Direll landed 3 clean punches and Froch landed 2 but he also landed many more partially blocked or hit arms or even missed, the round will be given to him based on agresion, ring generalship and him being busier. Of course if Froch threw 100 and landed 1 and Direll landed 10 that would be different but that wasnt the case. Clean punching is only 1 criteria, most important one but not the only one.

Dirrell runs around the ring making mistakes and tripping over his own damn feet. That is his style.

You score based on effective aggression not aggression. If Froch's punches are blocked and he is missing punches that is what we call DEFENSE, and judges are supposed to score defense.

You could argue Froch had ring generalship, but even that wouldnt be true, Froch couldnt cut off the ring for ****. Dirrell could go anywhere he wanted.

Watch Julio Cesar Chavez to see what he did to Camacho who tried to stick and move. THATS ring generalship.

Dirrell outlanded Froch heavily in that fight. Can you name more then 5 power punches Froch landed on the night?
