Great post. Im also a big fan of the ATG CW Adamek. And I agree that Hayes chin is better than he thinks. I also think that he was cutting far too much weight when he showed a shaky chin at CW.

My problem with Haye is he THINKS he needs to be so fleet of foot. The guy has serious raw power when he wants to let em go. And like we probably agree, his chin is at least as good as Wlad's, Lewis's, Golota's etc. All of which were able to withstand big punches and trade when they needed to and all were able to rebound from serious KO losses.

IMO, looking at Haye's history in boxing, going back to his amateur days, he is a real HW. Cutting weight, he could fight at CW, but his frame is very similar to the likes of Golotas or even Mitchells. He could weigh between 225-245 and still be one of the better movers in the ring.

But......like we agree, Haye don't trust his chin. And IDK if he ever will. He'll continue to come in lanky looking to run from and dodge exchanges. Not the recipe for success vs guys who can land b/c theyre relentless aggressors with iron chins or guys who can similarly box off the back foot. :think

Possibly for the same reason that the rabbit punches were called KD's

    The infamous British hometown reffing.

Thanks and i completely agree with your post. Fighters seem to believe that being as big at the weight as possible is the way forward but actually simply fighting at a natural weight i believe is far more beneficial. Haye is an extremely muscular, athletic guy (no homo) with a very low fat ratio. Losing that 15lbs of natural muscle done David no good whatsoever, it was plain to see that he was suseptible to temple shots which is a very good indication of weight draining. Guys like Mayweather, Pacquiao, Martinez and to a lesser extent Golovkin are proving that fighting at a natural weight without the strains that draining the body, can bring successful results. I cannot help but think the first three guys i mentioned careers are being prolonged as a benifit.

Haye unfortunately will always be negative at heavyweight due to his own self doubts. Its fine to be fleet of foot and to counterpunch but sometimes Haye has simply got to put his foot on the gas a bit and throw a little bit of leather. Although i think Haye will beat Chisora, their is the very real threat that he could land the better punches but be on the wrong end of a decision for trying to be too slick and cute.

as a Haye hater I decided to watch some of his fights not sure why

    i watched this one

I found it weird that a ref can call a knockdown from a foul and then deduct points for it seemed BS but overall not important since it didnt make the cards

i thought the one knockdown i think in 5 or 6 near the end was bogus he took a knee from a rabbit punch near the bell

i know Ruiz took a beating but the stoppage was a little shitty but in reality was Ruiz really gonna make the final bell

I give Haye is credit because he beat Ruiz easier than anybody since Id say Tua

I think Ruiz deserved the 2 Valuev fights and gave Chagaev a really hard time

Despite the fact that I dont like Haye and found his Valuev fight horrible and his performance vs Wladimir pitiful I give him his dues for Ruiz

    :deal

I dont like Haye but i see his potential

if he fought Wlad like the 12th the whole fight it would have been very interesting now i think theres a good chance he would have been stopped but i also think his chance at getting near the upset would have been much greater

i dont think his chin is as bad as its been labeled hell I dont think wlads chin is that bad

neither of them have ever been knocked cold for the count

Haye needs to stay in there a little bit and counter rather than run or just slip shots

Haye is in tough vs a big man like Chisora who can take a punch and likes to go forward

if Haye can stay in the pocket avoid punishment and deliver his own i will be impressed

PP gets his anus stretched in yet another one of his trolling threads. Great.

  9. Ruiz is was good at times and certianly a champ but he was way past his prime yet still gave Haye hell and the stoppage wasn't really that satisfying.
I would bet Chisora is gonna TKO Dave.

Well no, but personally I was not impressed by Haye's performance and the real reason it took so long is that he is not actually a very good finisher. He IS a truly powerful puncher, but his power works best from range, he is not a guy who hurts with short shots like Tyson did, he hurts with proper extension.

And what happened when he dropped and hurt Ruiz was that as always he rushed in and smothered his own work. He did it with Enzo Mac and yet had so badly hurt him that he only need a glancing blow to finish it off. But he also missed wildly several times and he often does this.

Contrast that to how Lewis finished Golota when he had him hurt. He stood off, picked his shots and placed them with proper room to extend his arm and hurt even though Lewis also had good short shots.

Haye got so close to Ruiz that all he could do was club and rabbit punch. He gave Ruiz the chance to hold and avoid the power shots. If he had walked across calmly, and put together shots from range he would have ended it in the 1st round.

All that said....he didn't and he made it harder work for himself than it needed to be.

Haye will stop Chisora. Chisora will come straight at Haye to fight and will swing. He will be wide open to Hayes right hand and he wont make it past 4 rounds.

    Haye is a ****.

Those rabbit punches were brutal and there is no excuse.

The second KD wasn't just a "rabbit punch," Haye literally hit him square in the back of his head, and then tried to land another one (that just missed) as Ruiz was going down.

You can see Ruiz clearly grabbing at the very back of his head, in pain, afterwards.

Another thing that is highlighted by that fight is Hayes complete lack of ;recision. Sure, he's aggressive (except against good fighters) but his true connect percentage must have been under 20%.

I fricking hate that loud-mouthed *****. A serious piece of human garbage.

Was hardly an impressive performance by Haye but he got the job done I guess.
