After Rewatching the Abner Mares Fight On MY HDDVR I have new thoughts....

just rewatched the fight on my 3d tv and no low blows connected .agheado shouldve been dq'd for intentional headbutts though. if you dont have a 3d tv you don't know **** about boxing

 

This exactly. Given the fact that the margins on the two Mares scorecards were 4 points, I find it very silly to say that Mares was clearly superior last night when there was at least one clear 3 or 4 point swing.

 

I re-watched the fight as well and mares didnt hit agbeko low until the 10th round.. The early shots were on the beltline! The cawk sucking announcers were full of ****.. Especially tarver. He was openly rooting for agbeko, It was shameful! Similar to lampley's man love for cotto!

 

I am fully aware of that. I had the fight a draw had the judge made the right call. But it wasnt as foul ridden as people would have you believe. My score card was up on this site before the offiicial card which mirrored mine exactly. The fight was actually scored perfectly other than Adelaide Byrd.

Fail analysis from the TS. Mares fought dirty and the ref was horrible! Fight shouldve gone the other way!

 

Both guys had their dirty moments. Fairly easy to see Agbeko leading with his head on more than one occasion, which was as intentional as the low blow.

The difference between the illegal blows is that Agbeko went down and it was ruled a knockdown. Feel bad for Agbeko, he should have had a draw out of this fight. I do not like Agbeko's style though and had mares been smarter he could have won this fight more clearly.

 

Based on the comments about the fight and your analysis...I think you should return your 50" LCD TV cuz I think it's broken.

Looks to me like Mares was pulling Agbekos head into his...:deal

 

I gave Mares 6 of the first 7 rounds (although at least 2 or 3 of them were close). After that Agbeko took over and one the 11th without the KD. It seemed to take King Kong a while to establish himself. And when he had Mares hurt in the 4th round he did nothing. Plus if he would of started faster he could of gone after the cut that was opened by a head clash in the 6th but he was trailing on the scorecards so it was pointless.

 

Watch the ref closely on the knockdown. He waves Mares away before Agbeko has even hit the deck-

Oh come on, you were already declaring last night that there were only 2-5 below the belt and the rest were right on the belt (http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=10440897). This thread doesn't really indicate a changed opinion or actual reconsideration of the fight.
