I have to admit that it was closer than it appeared the first time that I watched it. Maybe I was pulling for JMM more than I thought, but it seemed to me that he clearly won all of the rounds that I had for him. I still feel that he won those rounds, but I can see someone scoring it the other way. Someone said it earlier and I will agree with them. I can't really complain with the fight being scored anywhere from 115-112 Marquez (which I had it last night) to 114-113 for Pac. It was a great fight, and we need more of them. Definitely not a robbery.. although I do feel that JMM deserved the decision. I only wish they would have a third fight.
i had it 8-4 for marquez.....watched it again and i still can't see how juan lost that ****en fight......he started strong, and ended strong
pac reminded of of trinidad after the oscar fight....they knew they had lost but once they were read the winner, all of sudden they started celebrating...
I had it 8-4 for Marquez too. After rewatching the fight, I scored it the same way, but I realized that people could have seen a couple of those rounds for Pac.
I think ater rewatching it you were trying to find reasons why to the rounds to Pac. That is different than giving it to the rightful winner of the round. That doesn't justify what the how the refs scored it. These guys are supposed to be pro judges, what kind of crap training do they get?:huh Marquez won clearly.
I think that you're right. I must admit that I was trying to find reasons to give Pac rounds. I still came up with the same score, I was just trying to see what people who scored them for Pac saw in those rounds. In reality, I still feel that Marquez won 115-112.
Just like Marquez clearly won rounds 7 and 11..lol Those are the closet rounds of the fight and he would need both to win the fight. Round 1 was about a 10-10 round if I ever seen one, or slide towards Pac for initiating the action. Pac landed the first hard shot as well.
:good I do that too in close fights to see the other point of view. But the fact of the matter is that fights are not scored by who lands the stronger punches, it's by who does more in the ring. Of course Pac was stronger and bigger but this is not a strong man contest it's a "boxing match" and Marquez clearly outboxed Pac in more rounds.
i've already rewatched this fight 3 times in its entirety... i even turned off the sound. i still have it 114-113 pac.
I got it 114-113 for JMM ... it shouldve been a UD in his favor by those scores across the boards. Pac got hurt several times in that fight a couple more than he hurt Marquez and really showed his lack of skill ... I don't think that he can sweep the superfeather division.
Fighting David Diaz is b/s and I think that Diaz being in the position he's in, is just looking to get paid. PacMan won't win that fight and it won't hurt his career ... this is stupid ... Diaz isn't going to gain any respect win or lose. It seems like a ploy to get PacMan in the same light as Morales and JCC
Even if you're a pac fan ... no one is having the scores by a wide margin which is telling me that they infact think that it couldve went either way. If you score the fight by the fighter controling the pace, using the ring to his advantage, and throwing the more accurate/effective punches then you have to score it for Marquez. (no matter who you're in favor of) Pacquiao was off balance, he looked hurt alot, he kept throwing that bull**** combo at times setting himself up for the counter. He was getting hit to the body alot ... his body language showed that he was tire ... his corner was worried even in the 12th ... no one told him that he had the fight secure and no one told Marquez to get desperate ... Larry Merchant showed me what he thought and that was that he had it for Marquez.
No matter how many times you watch it, the ending will always be the same. Pac by a close, could have gone either way, fair decision. Live with it and move on.
