After seeing Abraham last night... this man is SO beatable.

Granting that's the case, Marquez should have taken advantage of the situation specially at that point Abraham was complaining about an alleged low blow.

But we know Marquez can only do that much.

He looks dumb, his moves are awkward but he's a fighter!

Last night he showed very good power but more importantly very good defense. From the Miranda fight we also know he doesn't quit. He'd be a tough fight for anyone and right now I'd favor him slightly over Pavlik.

 

Marquez had no business in the ring with him.Sturm and Pavlik are the only ones who can give him trouble but I'd pick Abraham over both

Yeah, AA looked sloppy last night. After the excellent first round, he reverted to his turtle defence, only without bobbing, waving or moving. The offense was also a bit sloppy - he missed a lot and looked clumsy at time. It was a clear step back when compared to the last fight with Miranda. It could have to do with Marquez, however. AA was obviously was not giving him that much respect as Miranda and felt he could get away just standing in front of him. Marquez is also difficult to hit than Miranda which may have contributed to a less stellar perfromance this time around. He did the job done though, without any problems. I really want to see him against Sturm or Pavlik, best would be both!, ASAP!

 

This is poor analysis.

His footwork is not supposed to be amazing. He uses a high guard in the style of Winky-Wright, and it works for him.

He is not wide open to counterpunches at all. How the hell you going to counter a guy that is either countering you with bombs or covering up?

His stamina is not poor. He fights to utilise his power. He'll absorb punishment and then come out with hugely powerful bursts. These remain powerful right up until the final round, in both hands. His stamina is enough for the style he is using.

Yes he is very beatable by a good technician that will outwork him and keep a tight defence, but unfortunately there are none of these in the middleweight division so its a moot point.

 

The thing is, he doesn't have poor footwork, he is not open for counter, he doesn't have poor stamina, and he is a polished technition. What you think are his flaws is your opinion, but you seem to be describing Pavlik more than Abraham lol...

 

What do you mean Abraham was injured BEFORE teh Miranda fight? Which fight? What was the injury?

 

I think he can clear out the middle division tbh. Like others have stated I think Sturm has a better chance of winning vs AA than Pavlik does but I see AA winning both.

Pavlik would probably play right into AA's game. Come at him and try to break his defense and get knocked up by counter punches. I don't think that AA is that great technically but his turtle defense is pretty damn good and hes pretty quick to counter out of it.

Obviously someone like Bhop could pick him apart from the outside and force AA to be aggressive but I don't see anyone at MW being able to do that atm.

Hopefully we get to see both these fights soon. His manager or him apparently said they wanted to set up a fight with Sturm next then Pavlik mid next year or something. So maybe will see those fights soon.

 

Felix Sturm would not last 5 rounds with Abraham, and Pav might last a little longer, but he would be brutally beaten up by Abraham. Abraham has a flair for his punches where as PAv has no flair at all. AA ko's both Sturm and PAv. I would like to see AA move up to 168 and take on the best.

 

I agree, the MW division is very limited.

 

Yea - you must be on acid. AA is an alround fighter. He boxes smart, punches hard and has good footwork. His stamina is very good also - he even tried out professional bike-racing. Sturm and Pavlik will be good fights.
