Which I think is going to happen..Brocks stand up is not good and even if he manages taking down carwin he won't be able to man handle him like he's used too doing.he will eventually get caught.. N e ways I Want JDS to get in their with Shane and pug him too sleep I think he deseves it more then Cain.. Cain should fight Brock ..
I wouldn't jump the gun there buddy. The only thing Carwin has going for him more than Lesnar is hands, and Lesnar I'm pretty sure is aware of this. Carwin knocking Lesnar out is possible but not probable IMO. Eventually they may lock up and I don't think Carwin can out wrestle Lesnar. Come on, if Carwin couldn't take Mir down, he's gonna be in for a **** storm the night he fights Lesnar. Lesnar by TKO.
I don't remember carwin trying to take Mir down he was leaning on him using his size trying to wear him down and perfectly timed a flurry of punches...all I'm saying is carwin has total advantage standing up and he's a buf powerful guy I just don't see Brock being able to take him down easily...
Yes, he tried to take Mir down. That's how they wound up against the fense. Mir defended well, and Carwin pressed Mir against the fense and used his size and eventually threw that brutal flurry. Carwin will not be able to dictate where the fight goes against Lesnar so easily. Lesnar has brut strength in the lock up. Carwin may be buff, and is an extremely strong man, but his strength in this paticular match up is in the hands. I don't think anyone in MMA can out wrestle Lesnar. Maybe Lesnar doesn't take him down so easily, but eventually I think he will. Niether guy has faced a wrestler at this level in their MMA career's, as neither guy has had alot of fights, and it should be a very fun fight to watch, but look how much bigger Lesnar was standing next to Carwin at UFC 111 after Carwin's bout with Mir. I think Lesnar comes back with a vengence honestly.
Well I dont like you jumping the gun and just assuming Carwin beats Brock. This is pretty close to a tossup this Championship fight isnt like when GSP was fighting Hardy or when Arlovsk fought ****** Eilers. Anyways I agree I dont think Cain deserves it yet. It baffles me as to why you have Cain and JDS who fought within a 2-3 week period of each other in Feb/March yet JDS has to fight in August while Cain gets to wait until this fall probablly and fight for the title. Is Cain's UFC resume that much better then JDS to where he cant fight him around the time Lesnar and Carwin fight. Junior in his last 5 went out and beat Werdum, Struve, Cro Cop, Yvel and Gonzaga while for Cain its been O'Brein, Stojanoic, Kongo, Rothwell, Nogueira. For me you take away a past it Nog and thats a pretty weak resume. Why these 2 aint fighting ill never understand. How many guys will JDS have to KO before he gets a shot ? Do the math lets say he stops Roy Nelson in August and Cain fights Lesnar/Carwin in October/November so does JDS have to fight yet agian vs a Frank Mir or another contender ?
I believe certain guys get that push from the company to be champion. Lesnar was pushed to be champion. He didn't deserve a shot at the title. Beating a shot to **** fighter in Heath Hearring, who always had problems with wrestler's warrants a title shot? Not IMO. Cain & JDS (both way more deserving than Carwin) should be the top 2 contenders in the division, without debate. Cain & JDS already have a few names on their resumes and have been fighting more consistantly, while Carwin only has 2 in Gonzaga & Mir. I just think certain guys get that push. Didn't Marcus Davis have like a 14 fight win streak? The man had fight of the night, and knockout of the night awards, and was never even mentioned for a title shot. It's bull****, IMO.
But who the hell did Davis beat in that time that said ok this guy deserves a shot ? You look at the guys getting title shots in that time like GSP, Penn, Alves, Fitch and Davis hadnt fought or beat anyone near that level. If Davis had beat Mike Swick then maybe he would have got the fight with Alves instead of Koscheck getting it back then but he got outclassed by a higher level gatekeeper.
Good point, however, 14 straight victories in the UFC isn't easy. Davis's fights were exciting. As much of a fan I am of Fitch, he always does a great job winning, but he beat only 1 name on his way to a title shot and that was Diego. Fitch's fights aren't exactly known as exciting. But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying, fighters should title shots depending on how exciting their fights are, that would be ridiculous. I'm just saying Davis should have gotten more credit for the work he put in when he was on that role.
Anything could happen in this fight. Big hitters with great grappling. Shane has the better boxing and he has the BJJ. However Brock's chin hasn't cracked yet, Shane's has. Brock might time a heavy right hand. I would also say that Brock is perhaps a bit more agile and explosive.
Carwin will KO Lesnar. Then Carwin will fight Velasquez. I think Carwin will beat Velasquez as well. Then Carwin will fight Junior Dos Santos. And lose. JDS is the best heavyweight in the UFC IMO.
:good People are in for a big reality check. Lesnar is so superior a wrestler and an athlete its not funny. That D1 and D2 are the same stuff may apply when youre facing Mir or the likes but when two guys with the same style match up it matters. I like Carwin, wresters who can bang are my fave. style of fighter, but Lesnar is on another level completely. Noone can stop Brocks shot, and Carwin wil likely look like a turtle flipped on its back. It will be ugly. The only thing he can do, I think, is hope to be competitive enough to tie up with Brock and check his cardio. Randy looked to do it, but Carwin isn't a grinding Greco fighter and I doubt he can do it. Shane does have a punchers chance, but its not much of a chance.
Yes sir JDS is the best heavyweight in the ufc but Dana is hating for some reason??? I would love to see JDS and Fedor one day but it won't happen..and if it did by the time it would Fedor will be washed up. He's fading now already..
