After the beating Maidana gave Floyd, it's no wonder he ran from Margarito

But several people did beat Margo. That's reality. Three of the guys that whooped up on him went on to lose lopsided fights to Mayweather

Ok who were those 3 guys?? C'mon spit it out

The only two people that LEGITIMATELY beat Margarito were
Manny Pacquaio & Paul Williams in a close fight Neither of them LEGITIMATELY lost to Mayweather.

Forget juiced to the gills Mosely that was a disgrace

Forget Cotto he couldn't legitimately beat a one eyed Margarito he had to rely on the NY doc to stop the fight . Not to save Margarito's eye but to save Cotto QUITTING ON HIS KNEES AGAIN!!!!

If he hadn't had that enforced 18 months off from boxing after being railroaded Margarito would have been in his prime against Manny & the outcome may well have been very different. As it was Manny said Margarito was the toughest fight of his career he hit him harder than any one else. But I guess you guys will claim he had loaded wraps wont ya ????

I thought that Pac's fans were dead lol... You have no business starting bogus threads or promoting Pac's shook ass. I truly thought that all of you Pac fans took ban bets and were dead like how Shane almost killed Margarito. Margarito was a Arum stooge who used illegal wraps for several fights. ****en cheat!

The ONLY people who keep bringing up this fight like it mattered are Mayweather haters. Baldomir actually was the better fight to take at the time. Same money and all the belts. Also, Baldomir just had a shocking upset against Judah, who was the man at 147. That fight actually does more for his legacy, on paper at least.

Firstly, most of these guys don't even know who Cuevas is...they just started watching boxing in the 2000s but swear they know everything. Secondly, they'll always try to find something to discredit Floyd.
Margo was good but not great. They don't want to address the fact that he was a force before but couldn't knock anyone out after Brother Nazim said, "Hold on one MF minute!" and Mosley waxed that ass. Why was that? Oh, I don't know...maybe the bast.ard had something illegal in his wraps before. Cats really lose sleep over Floyd and his accomplishments, especially after they come to the realization that he won't ever be beat. They still hold onto a little bit of hope every May and September but then their dreams come crashing down right about the third round of the fight. Then it's on to the forum...and comedy ensues.

Judah,Baldomir,Maidana ect all rank ahead of Margarito. The only time a fight between the two was relevant was 08, no time before or after then.

Maidana is still active and has had a better career and at the time of the fights what had Tony don't to make him more deserving than Judah and Baldomir both have also had better careers?

Really :lol:So judah was more deserving at the time :lol:And what did Baldimor bring outside the trinkets he held for one fight ?

Funny but guys like Cotto ,Williams and Mosley even Manny felt he was worthy but he wasn't worthy for Mayweather .. Nice try ..Keep justifying them cherries !

Forget for a sec what he did below 140 ..And your right he doesn't have to fight every flavor of the month by why does he pick on the simplest of flavors

    though ?

And winning all those titles is great but most of those guys were titlist rather than champs ..I mean Gatti had a belt we holding that win in high regard ?

Hatton was basically given a belt in order to bring something to the Floyd fight

In this era Im more impressed with resumes when they count..For all his success and his rankings he should have had more memorable fights not fights people wish to forget !

Margarito called him out to his face and nothing meanwhile guys who were never successful at WW like Hatton and Marquez call him out ,now here comes the legend ready to accept the challenge .

I would, have loved to see MW fight a guy like that it would have been beautiful to see him out box a guy who at the time was one of the most feared at the time not the journeyman Baldimor who became more of a belt holder than an actual champion .But who honestly didn't really do jack for his legacy outside the belts he held ..

And Judah do we really need to go over this mental midget ? Who's claim to fame is getting beat by Tsyu then losing To Baldimor before fighting Floyd had he gone in there with a win streak while holding all the belts it would, have been more meaningful but no he still fights him anyway .

For all his talents he should really have a much deeper resume than the one he has now .

Margarito was no different to Maidana, beating him would not have enhanced Floyds legacy in any way at all.

Firstly....who did Margarito beat? Kermit Cintron? Oh and the Cotto fight where he was getting throughly outboxed until the plaster set in. Something which Cotto corrected in the rematch.

Margarito lost to every decent fighter he fought. Cotto, Williams, Mosely, Pacqiauo, 3 of those were beaten by Floyd.

    1. Floyd was 37 when he fought Maidana

    2. Floyd won quite clearly 8-4

    3. Maidana and Margarito fight nothing alike. Maidana throws punches from weird angles and excels at throwing the overhand right which is an effective punch against the philly shell

    4. Floyd was offered the margarito fight - but it would've required a 3 fight extension with Top Rank and no DLH fight. And the DLH was far more interesting as an opponent.

    5. Margarito is a disgrace to the sport.
