Idk if im right here but didnt Arum say MAyeeather had to extend his contract with top rank to giht margo? And didnt Margo lose to Williams after challenging floyd? I love the kind of fighter Margsrito was and i dont think he cheated but some people really over rate him just to hate on Floyd

Arum refuted that and said he wanted no options ..But overate him over who Baldimor or Judah  He was worthy for Manny,Cotto,Mosley and Wiliams but not good enough for Floyd ..But we know he faced more dangerous fighters in Maidana ,Ortiz in Gurrero

Funny Mosley beats him then Floyd beats Mosley it becomes credible ..Talk about hypocrisy And you honestly think Maidana was as dangerous as Margarito

And at the time it would have done a hell of allot more than beating Baldimor and Judah Thats for dam sure ! But let me guess they enhanced Floyd legacy right?

Paul had no notabe wins at the time floyd fought baldomir. In fact paul fought on that under card. Floyds very next fight was DLH. What signature wins did paul and marg have at the time?

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."

It was a package deal, Arum was not trying to up the money for Hatton or Cotto. (Comical considering he made way more then what he asked Arum for)

He also wasnt trying to give floyd 20 mil for DLH..The biggest fight in boxing history at the time FFS

Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum is a busy man as of late. Currently, the promoter is trying to put together a super fight between WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito and middleweight Winky Wright, while still trying to lure Floyd Mayweather, Jr. into a bout with Margarito. Arum told the Grand Rapids-Press that he feels Mayweather is legititmately scared of Margarito and there is no reason the pound-for-pound king should not take the fight. Arum put an $8 million dollar offer on the table for Mayweather to face Margarito in October, an offer that Arum says will not be there for much longer.

"He can say whatever he wants but he's terrified of Margarito. That's the only explanation. It would be his biggest purse ever, by far," Arum said. "So if he weren't terrified, he would go ahead with the fight and pick up the $8 million, then try to make the fight with De La Hoya, right?"

Arum knows that Mayweather has a few other options for his next bout, but some of them are not pay-per-view caliber fights and none of the fighters will allow Mayweather to grab such as high majority of the purse split, like the current offer Arum has given him for Margarito.

"I suppose Mayweather could go fight Baldomir, if Baldomir beats Gatti, but that's no pay-per-view fight. "These opponents aren't in the business of fighting Mayweather and letting him have all the money. I don't know what he's thinking, but I would say there's a very good possibility he won't fight again this year."

Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. rejected promoter Bob Arum's $8 million offer to fight welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito, and he instead exercised a provision in his contract to buy Arum out and become a promotional free agent, Arum told ESPN.com on Monday.

According to Arum, Mayweather turned down the career-best purse to meet Margarito on Aug. 12 on HBO Pay-Per-View, instead opting for free agency by buying Arum out of their deal for $750,000.

"I did hear from him," Arum said of Mayweather. "He decided not to fight this summer. I made him a tremendous offer. I think Margarito is the riskiest fight for him of anyone out there."

Mayweather adviser Leonard Ellerbe told ESPN.com that Mayweather passed on the fight not because he is ducking Margarito, but because he couldn't be ready to fight by Aug. 12. Mayweather injured his right hand during a dominating April 8 victory against Zab Judah.

"Floyd is not 100 percent healthy," Ellerbe said. "He has a bruised right hand. His hand is not broken. It's bruised, but it's a bad bruise. He wants to go into any fight 100 percent healthy. If Antonio Margarito happens to be the best available option when he is healthy, so be it.

"We are not turning down Margarito. I want to make that crystal clear. When and if he is the best available option for Floyd's next fight, that's the direction he will move in."

With Aug. 12 no longer set aside for a Mayweather fight, Arum said he will use the date to feature one of his other stars, heavyweight titlist Hasim Rahman, in a mandatory title defense against Oleg Maskaev on HBO PPV.

Funny nothing about options and even Ellrbe chimes in saying Floyd wasn't healthy :lol:Sure it was because of options !

Void would have waited until Margarito is damaged goods before he fights him because he is a coward.Just like he waited for fishnets , Shaky Shane Mosley and Pac to get banged up.

How are Arums comments after Floyd left top rank relevant of anything? He was clearly upset.

I know you're a Roy Jones fan so why didnt he fight DM? Or rematch Hopkins? Not every fight gets made. It's a business.

Easy why didn't DM come to the states when HBO bent over backwards to make the fight ?

Hopkins wanted nothing to with Jones when he still had a pulse ..Hopkins was the one that ducked the rematch even after Roy called him out ..

And forget Arums comments what about Floyd's right hand man Ellerbe comments ? Guess you like being selective ..
